A Obvious suggestion...

...have a fricking S&D tutorial mode that is REQUIRED for new players to go through...hell, add some AI to it! It'll teach the newbies who end up getting kicked or losing the round for your team when you were THAT close to winning how to plant and defuse the bomb! Alot easier then that quick window that pops up when you start a mode for the first few times (and those don't work either...wasting time in S&D costs you dearly...VERY dearly).

This game pretty much goes and teaching you things that just about any idiot knows about FPS games..W,A,S,D, how to crouch, how to jump, how to climb a fricking ladder...I mean, come on...those are things that no gamer really needs to be taught.

What should have been taught is...

1) How to plant and defuse the bomb in S&D and GM modes.

2) How to bunny hop (yes, there are ways to play flash videos in-game...plenty of games do it. PERFECT tutorial opportunity) in multiple fashions for S&D and GM for survival and tactical purposes.

Oh well...knowing how old the game is by now we'll never see it...and it's a shame the developers didn't think of it before they released the game...

  • Would do you no good. If they are too stupid to figure out how to press the trigger button to plant, the "E" button to defuse, and the "G" button to drop the f'ing bomb during their "Rookie server" tour, no tutorial will be able to educate them.
  • Unless You Are 3 , You Should Figure Out Those Basic Controls From Your First Matches
  • My first game of S&D, I had no idea you could switch to your weapon when you had the C4, so I walked around with that in my hands.
I also had no idea how to defuse the bomb, and sat on top of the bomb and kept left and right clicking until it exploded :)

But I take it you figured it out before you became a staff-sergeant and outgrew the rookie server.
  • Better solution: insta ban if u played 25 matches without plant or defusing a bomb. Goodbye hackers in tdm, goodbye farmers.

I usually cover the defuser rather than defuse myself.

That's bullsh*t. Someone who never played counter strike before and is playing crossfire for the first time won't know it. Those guys wouldn't even notice the bomb. What I mean is, you talk like It's obvious to know how to play cf, I started with the early versions of cs, I know all the secrets but someone who never played it before won't know it.

I think it was unreal tournament were they said something like this "don't call other players noob, you were once a noob too"

I didn't say first time, now did I? I said, if they don't figure it out while they can still play on the rookie server, they aren't going to figure it out from a tutorial.

The time you played doesn't matter, if you haven't played anything like that before because you don't expect it. Someone who plays it for the first time will see A and B but wont know what to do there. I have some girlfriends who played counter strike with me and they thought they could throw the c4 like a grenade. I know a lot of people who didn't know how to use the c4.

If no one teaches you how to play, you wont learn it. You might learn it while watching others but many people don't pay a lot of attention to what others do.
