I'll answer the questions on here since my inbox is full and I can't find any non-essential messages to delete:GodsMarksman wrote:I'm going to be getting the X11's for my birthday ^^ Wanna give me some info about the headphones? I looked up some reviews, but it would be better if it came out of someone playing CF.
10 Questions:
1) How's the mic?
2)Is it good for both S&D and GM?
3)Is the headset durable?
4)Does the Chat Volume thing work with TS/Vent?
5)What exactly does the Chat Volume Control do?
6)Is it compatible with any computer? (2008 Vista)
7)What soundcard do I use?
8)How do I install a soundcard?
9)Is using only the headset itself and no sound card (default) still good?
10)Are there some sound settings that I should change after getting the X11's?
Extra)When did it come out?
1: The mic's fantastic, having spoken to the X11 users Moof mentioned a lot on the SUaF Mumble, the vocal range is great, even for those using on-board sound cards and audio processors. There's no distortion, even when not using the mic cover.
2: I use it for hearing in all games, it's perfect for hearing any footsteps or breathing, and popping out round a corner on 'em. The earcups also drown out any background noise pretty well. Oh,and I can hear people reloading from pretty insane distances on CoD
3: It's one of the sturdier headsets, I've dropped mine numerous times, my cat's knocked it off the table, no marks, no bends, nothing. I'd put that down to the amount of comfort options you have with the headset, as a whole, what with the 360 degree metal-braided flexible mic.
4: I couldn't say for sure if it'd work for Vent or TS, but it was designed primarily for XBox 360, since their in-game chat rarely have volume options.
5: It changes the volume of how much you can hear yourself speak, as well as how much you project your voice to others, so you're not too loud or too quiet.
6: The headset is compatible with anything provided it has that USB power supply for the amplifiers.
7: Well personally I use Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer, but unless you're willing to shell out $150 for one of those, pretty much any of the Creative X-Fi 7.1 - 16.1 cards will do. There are other great brands, such as ASUS, but their processing power just doesn't match up to an X-Fi, far from it.
8: Firtly check which slot the card runs on (usually PCI), then check to see if you have a spare one of those:
Creative cards generally run on the PCI, and ASUS generally run on the PCIx1 slot.
You turn the PC off, take out the power, ground yourself to eliminate any static, simply touching the metal side of your PC case will do, then carefully insert the card into the slot. Reconnect the power, boot up the PC. You may then have to either install the detection software on the driver CD, or simply download it from the manufacturers website. Once the card has detected, reboot the PC, download the latest drivers, and you're away.
9: I wouldn't advise it personally, since you're not going to be getting all the benefits of having a great headset. Some on-board, such as Realtek, don't have many customised sound options, so you'll be stuck with mediocre sound, and no tuning abilities.
The headset will still sound better than any non-purpose gaming headset, but it's just not going to be at full throttle.
10: If you have a decent sound card, even the vanilla settings are great. However if you pick up an X-Fi, you can choose whether you want gaming specific, so you can hear fine details, or music settings for better acoustics sounds.
If you want to hear the quality before you buy, you're more than welcome to hop on the SUaF Mumble later, when Moof and I are on. -

None , I Can Buy You A 15 Dollar Headset ( Cant Remember Exact Name ) And It Would Beat Those Easily
Its Like The Razer Products , You Can Get Better Things For 30% The Price -
I was like a hair close to purchasing the x12s' but I figured they would be of no use to me since the time I put into gaming has steadily declined over the past 2 years... almost to the point of complete removal from my leisure activities. I would suggest considering your options. Do you really want to invest $50+ on a headset your going to use for a game worth not even a quarter of the headset value? If your a competitive player and plan to stay in that community than go ahead and make the purchase, but be very careful with your money. $50 is alot of GAS and stripper money. good luck

LOL First thing I read was "Soft and deep".I have my pc across the room from my bed, I stretch the cable and lay in my bed listening to music while I go to sleep.
It comes in handy.
Do you not toss and turn then? If I did that, those would be bent or broken by morning. -
Cmon now, u should of gone out during black friday and bought the x12s at BestBuy. Now i got it for 40$, and its great, buy surround sound processor 7.1 Dolby something with the turtle beach, if u decide to get the x11. GodsMarksman wrote: »One last question, what exactly does the Voice Monitering thing do? It says something about hearing how loud your voice is, but I don't wanna hear an echo of me speaking every time I talk

The best way to explain it is, you know when you cover your ears, you naturally speak either too quietly, or too loud. You can't hear yourself speak, but it makes it feel as though your ears aren't covered, and you're speaking naturally.
It's a great addition in my opinion. -

Ohh, so basically it won't be like speaking with earplugs in your ears? -
