Oh God it's turned into another fanboy argument.
Anyone who sides for either is being a downy, as, fact is, both consoles are holding gaming back.
Although I completely agree with this, try saying ^ to a console "gamer". They say the exact opposite of what we're saying, and pretend the xbox is for "good, mature players" -
Just plain gaming wise, I prefer the PS3 just because I personally like the exclusives on it better over the Xbox's (Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and Infamous to name a few). Mutli platform games (Like Battlefield, COD, and Elder Scrolls), your pretty much going to get the same gaming experience on either one. (Graphics might vary slightly, though I really don't let that influence my choice) The exclusives on PS3 is what swayed my choice, and not having to pay for online is nice. From a pure gaming standpoint, I would take a PS3 over a 360 (And I like the controller better

Hardware PS3 wins but it is losing the exclusive games to xbox + PS3 is being targeted by hackers and still have not sorted it out. Controller for the PS3 is the smallest, lightest and easily broken piece of plastic there is though the rechargeable battery's is a good idea. And the Xbox controller fits perfectly in your hand, wont break if you drop it though the battery pack does fail often.

The exclusives are what you prefer.
PS3 has many more good exclusives than Xbox has. More variety. Better developed games.
You get what you pay for.. erm... because the function of playing online is different on XBox?

PS3 took 5 years.
Easily broken? My PS3 has lasted since 2007... My mate has gone through 2 Xboxs because he moved them. And they broke.
Hes had discs scratched to pieces in an XBox.

Both consoles are rubbish... but PS3 design, hardware and games come out on top. By far.

PSN is free which means they don't have to bother with it and it is just a terrible service and the fact that it is still not safe to use. If you have a problem with it they don't have to bother helping you unlike when you pay for xbox live where you payed for it and you get security and more features and if you get a problem it is sorted quickly. Plus if you read my first post i did say the Xbox is the better console for about the last year.
PSN is still unsafe and Xbox live is much more secure.

Funny you say that the xbox controller does not fit when most people find the xbox controller fits much better then the PS3 and the button layout is much better. You are holding the controller wrongly if your feeling pains in your hand as thats the second time I have heard that.
Think im on my 3rd PS3 controller. First one broke when i threw it against my wall and the second broke when i dropped it on my floor. Its so small and light you just expect to snap it in half if you wanted. Where as Xbox one is sturdy and doest break though i agree the battery pack is annoying.
And like i said before PS3 was just better than the Xbox 360 18 months ago but now the Xbox is better though I can't wait for the PS4 and the next Xbox to come out to see which one will be better. -

Is Steam a terrible service and still unsafe to use? PSN used 128bit encryption... same as XBox... they were just targeted "to prove a point" after GeoHot got taken to court.
Have you ever used PSN? You seem to know nothing about it... You logic about them "Not having to care" is the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Even Cookie (XBox user) laughed at that.
The service is exactly the same. Of course they have to help you.. what kind of idiocy is that?
You have nothing to back up anything of what you just said... Everytime ive had a problem, id go onto the forum and get the help there. If not, I contact Sony. Always a quick and useful reply.

XBox live is not more secure than anything else. If these hackers got through STEAM.. whats stopping them getting to xbox live when they use the same security and same coding as Windows and XBox use the same API/coding?

The onyl reason people said otherwise was for 2 reasons "It feels old..." or "Im used to the XBox" meaning they rarely use a PS controller.
Im holding it exactly the same way as the 3 people next to me were. The left analog stick is in the dumbest position ever. Theres too much dead space on the xbox controller and an PS3 user will ALWAYS outtwitch a Xbox user (assuming they have the same reflexes).
Why is the battery pack so big!? Why didnt they use a small rechargeable one like PS?
How can a console become worse over a year and half when nothing has changed....? Were you dropped on your head?
Do you realise how sturdy a PS3 controller is? Its not my fault youre incapable of keeping a PS3 controller in one piece..

Out of everything being discussed, aren't they all the same in that they can be used to waste time?
I have had a ps2 for long time and love it, had a gamecube enjoyed playing it, have a wii only like it for zelda/ wii sports. I have a decent cpu and an xbox 360, no ps3 because I was tired of spending money on gaming stuff.
I don't even understand the point of an arguement over which is better.
I rage regardless of what I play on, so does it really matter the medium that the rage is incurred through?
What I see is the basic usage of each thing being discussed.
Xbox360= Used to play w/ people. Maybe watch movies.
PS3= Used to play w/ people. Maybe watch movies.
Cpu= Can be used to play w/ people. More useful overall, but leagues more expensive for a good set up.
A question I have though, what is the difference between the amount of xbox livers and psners( if that is even a remotely correct term)?
Also, why must there be a do or die attitude about the consoles, does it actually matter? -

No, that's not the case at all.
In fact it could be considered easier to use cheats on a console, since alot of the time no injector would be needed.
The only thing that puts kids off cheating on consoles is because the player has their console and LIVE account banned/blacklisted. -
