Any ideas for this issue???

Hi CF players! I have a problem with my client. I can't open the game with the launcher for about 4 months because when i press start ,the launcher disappears and nothing happens. I noticed that i can run the game with patcher_cf.exe and i played CF 2 weeks by running the patcher. Than another problem appeared! When i log in the game ,if i dont join a game in about 20-30 seconds ,the game stucks and i have to close it by ctrl+alt+delete. If i join a game i can't see what the players are writing. I can talk to them ,but i can't see what they say. Sometimes when i close it, it appears an error saying: crossfire.exe Application Error The instruction at "0x01850a12" refereced memory at "0x0000004c" The memory could not be read" Click ok to terminate the program. It's true that i haven't reinstalled my windows xp for 1 year and a half. Is this the problem? Please help!!
