The problem is that one of there files is corrupt !! I checked the logfile and that's the error it gives me ! Hope Z8 can do something with this !

I also kept getting this error. After re-trying about 10 times it worked though. Some addition info about the bug:
When the launcher comes up, it says "Checking Files ...(number)%" until it gets to about 95%, and then it says "Downloading ...(number)%" for the last 5 percent. Once it was finished and I clicked the start button, the window with the 2 bars that shows patches being downloaded goes through the "Checking RF/rez" stages but freezes when it hits the "Downloading 1080" (or something similar) part. It doesn't start downloading though, and the window pops up after a second saying that it failed. -
It worked for me after just retrying several times. I think it's just because there's so many people trying to download the new patch at once, it's causing problems with incomplete patching. So either wait a little bit for more people to finish downloading it or just keep retrying until it works.

I have tried the patcher application from the crossfire installation location base and it's progressing, you must repeat it a lot, it is a pain but it works and if it doesn't progress (you must watch) then run crossfire and try it again. It's what i'm trying and it's somewhat working.

I tried to repair each rez with winrar repair repairing the archive, it says done and no problems. And i'm pretty sure the problem or error is in that 1080 folder, since i tried repairing and it didn't work i deleted 1080 and i'm redownloading everything. it's downloading much faster and it isn't saying error. I'm not fully sure if it's done well, but i'll check back if it is
