FILE IS CHANGED W[2007] L[0] and other File Changed/Forged Errors

    - Uninstall the game completely
    - Disable your antivirus' realtime protection
    - Redownload the game
    - Install the game
    - Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions
    - Re-enable realtime protection

If you downloaded the game with your antivirus active, it may be 'cleaning' the rez file upon download.

    The source File is corrupted

This is similar to the previously mentioned "File is changed" error. If your antivirus software's realtime scanner is active while you are downloading the game, it could result in corruption of the download. Temporarily disable your realtime scanner, then redownload the game client. Keep realtime scanning disabled while you install the game. Make sure to add the entire Crossfire folder to your antivirus' exceptions list before you re-enable the realtime scanner.''
  • Or you can try this version:

Utilize the program CCleaner to uninstall crossfire, and clean out the registry of its existence.

Delete the Crossfire Folder in MyDocuments.
Delete the Z8games Folder in C:\ProgramsandFiles(x86) - or just C:\ProgramsandFiles

    [Optional]
Find Run.exe on your computer - RUN.
    Type in: msconfig
Select the Services Tab, check "Hide all Microsoft Services", everything that appears in the list needs to be unchecked.
Now select the Startup Tab and uncheck everything.
Next, select Apply and click ok. Restart the computer.
    Restart The Computer.

    Turn off all AntiVirus/the Firewall.

Download a new Install Client from Z8games, install the game. Run it as Administrator.
  • i don't think so dudes >> that re-install the game is the solution...
its a general prob.. so i think GM will fix it without doing all that :)
  • The GMs or "Game Masters" don't do much other than observe.
You can check the server status here:
    http://www.mmoserverstatus.com/crossfire

In which you would get a Failed to Connect error at the Login Screen if you attempt to login to Crossfire at the moment.

Errors claiming that "a file has been changed" are the result of a countermeasure to prevent hackers/modders from making changes to a REZ file's memory or otherwise.

Usually many people get these errors around patch times due the the fact that the files really are being changed (because of the patch).

    Conclusion:
Basically if you get this error you need to follow the instructions in my previous post so you can obtain new RES files that aren't corrupt or modified.
