Ping Problem Help me out

I have an enormous problem with ping my ping goes from 120 - 200 the problem? my cousin lives in the same apartment building and he gets 20-60 ping. How is this possible some idiots in the game told me that you have to live in certain areas but my cousin lives in the same apartment building as me and he gets good ping. what is the problem with this computer? My computer runs crossfire fine I don't understand. Is it a virus problem? or is it this computer.

First off, wrong section.

Second off, everyone is having ping problems. I used to be stable at 35, now I just between 30 and 70 depending on the room. Just deal with it like everyone else is until they get it fixed.

Check what programs/applications/webpages are running in the background (i.e. if I'm watching Netflix and playing CF my ping in CF goes up) with your task manager.

Check to make sure your drivers are up to date and that your system is virus free (you need to use 3-5 different virus scanners to be completely sure)

If you have had virus problems in the past it might be recommended to do a fresh reinstall of your whole system or restore it to a previous point.

Check your router/wifi card or w.e. you use to make sure its running properly and no one else is using your bandwidth.

stop downloading pron in the background!
OT: try something like ccleaner before virus scans. it's much faster and should help a bit. and if you're on wireless, try using a cable. wifi isn't good at all

Remove any toolbars you have on your computer, they do nothing useful and sent a constant feed to the maker about what internet sites you go to and what you search and look up.

If your playing on a wireless internet signal, the signal can be distorted and even blocked entirely by a active microwave near by. Try connecting your computer directly to the modem to see if that improves the stability.
