That means yours is 1.2 MB/S brah, that up there is 41 Meg from home.

Go into Steam, and start downloading. Unless you have 120 meg internet, it'll say 1.2MB/S

Also work doesn't count, you have to pay for the net yourself, those are the rules.

how does 4.1 mb/s in steam transfer to 41 mb/s?

Because it's downloading 4.1 megabytes per second, not 4.1 megabits, as other places use.

Confusing, but that's Steam for ya.

4.1 MB/S = 41 meg internet
4.1 Mb/S = 4.1 meg internet

i do believe there are 8 bits in 1 byte... so its 4.1 x 8 not 10.

not to mention i have dl stuff on steam and it said 2.4 MB/s but i dont have a 24 Mb connection.

I'm not going into precisions of bits and bytes, it's boring, either way, your steam is clearly borked, since both mine and Chubs gives a perfect reading.
