Please dont tell me about it....
It was nidnight when I saw I have around 1500 kills. I said to my self, OK i will play for full hour and it will be 2000. I looked at 1 am, after I played 3 normal games, got all 3 times to wave 20 or above and was 1st or 2nd player on the map for whole game. I looked up at 1 am and I HAD 1790 kills, UNBELIVEBLE!!!!!!
I SAID TO MYSELF IM SO CLOSE, ONLY 210 KILLS! I played untill 2 am, again I played for at least 3 normal games, but this time I got with all 3 up to 20 wave, but in all 3 was 1st on the map. Its 2 am and there WASNT any update, so i said its some kind of bug again, I will play one more game. I played 1 easy and got to the end, was 1st again on the map and I played 1 Normal game after that one and got to 15 round and said this is it, and died on purpose. I waited 20 more minutes untill 3 am to see if there is some update, ofcourse no one updated anything I still had 1790 kills and I went to bed. This morning, 6 hours later, I entered my account, DIDNT find those crates, first I tought that mods didnt put it on, but im loging every few hours and I still didnt got them.

FIX THIS PROBLEM, I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!

Please tell me how it is possible?
In CF EU - they can create event with immediate write-statistics on www site but Z8 can`t.

And thanks for nothing (0 crates) I`m only waste 8 or more hours with crap ZM.

Lets clear up some misconceptions here. And add some things that we're working on to improve things.

Firstly. We are investigating the fact that some people did not receive the prize even if they achieved the goal. Whether or not you checked the event page you should still have received a prize (assuming you made the goal).

However this will mean 1 of two things. You either got enough points to get the item, or you did not get enough points to get the item.

If you are in the second category there is nothing that we can do for you. The event was run for 72 hours and the requirements were listed. The event page just gives you a way to track where you stand in the requirements.

Secondly. We are not here to coddle people along and give everyone infinite amount of time to complete the event. All events have winners and then people who didn't win the event. If you played ZM games this past weekend and checked the page and it said you had 1500 things. But there was only 20 minutes left in the event time, then chances are you missed the boat on this.
In the last bunch of posts everyone seems to have checked the page at the last possible time (lets say within 5 hours of the event being over). Just because the system said you needed 300+ kills and you attempted to get them but did not, does not mean you should automatically get the prize. There were plenty of people who used their time to get the proper amount of points required for this event.
It should also be of note that we never see these types of complaints when we do a regular event with a prize that might be considered worth less. There is some sort of preconceived notion by the community at large that just because we offer something "valuable" for a prize that we should be giving it to everyone who just goes in and plays 1 game. This is not the case, nor the point of these events.
This above is not our failure. You had 72 (67 if you minus those last 5 hours from above) hours to participate in the event. And during those 72 hours you could check your status on the event page.

What we can do in these cases is improve the event page to give you additional time to check your status after the official event time is over. The problem that most people seem to have is that they left all the kills to the last minute, and then tried their hardest to get the amount of Zombie Kills required in the least amount of time at the very end of the event. This is not a winning strategy unfortunately. But we can make some changes to the event page which will help accommodate these issues.

For example, if you could check your status after the event was over and it said, you have 1964 kills. Then you know you were 46 points short and there would be nothing you could do about it.

That being said the purpose of the events page is not for you to check that page at 11:59pm and then realize you need 46 kills, and then we are going to call the emergency crew in to extend the event because you needed a few extra minutes. This is not how it works.

I am not sure which events you are talking about. Other versions of CF also deal with a smaller group of people.

We are dealing with a min of two databases. The game and its mirror (along with backups redundancies and other dbs as well as plenty of other back-end logistics). If we were to use the live game database at all times we run the risk of a few things; Game Slow Down, DB Corruption (affecting live) and the likes of things that would be catastrophic for the game. As a result we use a mirror DB for things like the Clan Page. The mirror DB synchs with the live db multiple times a day. But it does cause some delay in how fast statistics are displayed.
PS this is not unlike how many other sites and games work.
As far as real-time handing out of items. The event page takes care of this for us as a more streamlined way of dealing with the issue of handing out thousands of items and essentially modifying the live database without hurting the rest of the game.

If you go to the event page and qualify for the prize you receive it. However if you don't go to the event page and you qualify for the prize you will receive the prize automatically on the next time the event calculation cycles. In our case it's between 1 and 2 hours on average for the type of the event.

In the end you barely have to wait more than 2 hours for prize delivery on an event like this. A year ago you had to wait the entire weekend and then all prizes were given out at once with no indication of how far along you were in the contest.

We will update on the first point of my reply in this post when we have more information on the subject.

yup I'll vouch for that. With the m66 i got that at aroudn the 2 hour mark cant be exact tho as i only check the events page after every couple of games after i logged in for that event. The halloween crates i got even sooner than 2 hours.

Firstly, Saidin thank you for answering on such short notice.

The thing is that you didnt understand whats going on in my case. I quit playing this event 3 hours before the end of this event. Secondly, we had 72 hours, thats correct, but you cant expect from people to play this event in 1st part of this event :D So you really dont care if someone finished this event in first 4 hours or last 4 hours of event time. On the other hand, I played 3 hours in a row, that means that after I finished 1 match I started new one and was like i told 1st or 2nd person on the map, to get 500 kills. Thats more then enough to collect that 500 kills!
OK you said that "no one" argue about prizes that are less value then this one. Than may be true, but still every prize get you something. This is 1st time i didnt get what i earned. If there was some event that was handling out for example 1000 gp and I didnt got them, I would still write that on forum. Prize is prize and Im very happy when I recive something, no matter what that thig is.
And its not my ours (players) problem that you cant fix all those bugs, if you cant do what you are paid to do, then stop doing it! You may think now that Im insolent but thats the way it is. I told you how it was, if you can tell me that Im wrong and that I didnt collect those 2000 kills, I wont say a word, I would just say thank you for your time trying to help me, like any other polite person would do!
    Thank you!

well dear saidin , i played on first day a few zombi match , and on second day after event start whend i wanted to see how meny i killed it show 0 yes ( zero ) i keep killing and on my third day gues what , it show 0 ( zero ) again .. and really trust me i kill on these 3 days off this event over 100 match of zomby and i didnt recived any crates ..
  • I got my crates in the last 2 hours of the event :D umad?
    ---
iv did like 30+ zombie mode matches in total <.< got to the boss in most of them

Specially for you (and please do not write about the forum rules) - Assignment: Annihilation!
Requirements: kills in game and game playing time.
Both parameters verifiable (on the event web site) immediately after logging out from server.
    Familiar?
We had CROSS FIRE IRON MAN Ribbon - played 50+ hours of Cross Fire in the month of March 2011.
The only way to check the playing time: web profile next day.
Ok this not very hard, but annoying.
Kills in game - easy (you can check the stats before logging off), but how count zombie?
99 % players shoots full auto, we have many 1 hit cheaters (and wondering my kill or cheater kill) and 20 or 30 waves takes quite a long time if anyone would like to count 100 % "my" zombie - HS kills.

Yes, you can play 72 h only ZM but because this mode playing many 1 hit cheaters (and you can`t report their) and only 2 vote required to kick player - this mode does not make sense.
And maybe i have 2000 or not, maybe only 1995 - I dont know because it is not possible to guess.
  • I want to say thanks. I recived my 3 crates and Im so happy :D Thank you a lot.

In regards to other versions of CF doing real-time events. They are tracking a lot less players than we are.

Plus our event page is still (for all intensive purposes) a work in progress. We were also the first CF version to introduce this. It's only a matter of time before we build on it. The page was also not available when we did the Iron Man ribbon. And if we do future ribbons like this then we'll no doubt be using the event page for them.

We're dealing with very large databases and users all wanting the same thing. Real-Time information. We've gone from delays of 24 hours, to down to a few hours. It's only a matter of time before more improvements are made.

In relation to the above post however, no we don't expect you to play all 72 hours. Or start any event on the moment the event is started. But we also cannot run an event for infinite amounts of time. If we say you must kill 2000 zombies and you start the event with 3 hours to go on the last day, there really isn't much we can do for you. We're sorry to see that you were busy or you couldn't play before. But that's really not our responsibility to schedule an event around you.

We tried to give opportunities for people in the UK and NA to log in to win the m66 by giving 2 times during the day. But we simply can't just keep adjusting for every single user. It doesn't work that way! We hope you understand.

We will be making some adjustments to the event page so that you will be able to see your stats even after an event is closed. This will give you the best information possible so that you will be able to see if you achieved the goal or not.

And as I mentioned in the first post. The event page is just an information source. If you complete the event requirement you will get the prize no matter what, it just might take slightly longer since those particular prize handouts are not in real time.

We found a number of accounts who had completed the challenge but did not get the prize. Those accounts were handed the crates this afternoon.

I also want to correct a misconception you seem to have about bugs. The event page was working exactly as intended. And when there was a bug with the page, as shown this past weekend we did correct it. If you are referring to game bugs then those are reported and fixed as new patches come in to the game from the developers.

Kills in game - easy (you can check the stats before logging off), but how count zombie?

I'm also going to take this comment one step further with another reply.

We have been doing different types of events involving various statistics in game for nearly 2 years straight. A minimum of once per month we run some sort of event that uses the game system to track things and ultimately hands out rewards.

We have done the "kill" thing. Frankly it's not too difficult to do, and the statistic shows every time you leave the game. However this is not good enough for us. We want more variety and more challenges and different events. Everyone can pick up a weapon and get some frags, but when you have to do it in a different mode, or with a specific weapon or at a certain time or with certain people it becomes more interesting.

We apologize if you don't seem to think that way, maybe we should go back to the basics then and just have an event that blatantly promotes farming, rather than at least attempting to get around it by doing different things.

When you do different things you're accessing different parts of the game data. Some times this is easy, in the case of kills. Sometimes it's a little more difficult, pistol kills on SnD maps (for example).

I'd also like to point out that they made an entire event page for that particular event. Which is great. But when you want to throw out events in the numbers that we do we need to make pages that can be used more than once. And thus the CF Event Page is born.

This page opens up amazing access to all sorts of fun things to do with the game. And we've only run a handful of events using it. There are plenty of improvements coming and no doubt new innovations that we can use to further the experience of our loyal players. In the end we want people to have fun in the game, and our players want to have fun in our game while winning free stuff. Cause everyone loves free stuff!
