Ok so i had alot of problems with crossfire lately so i decided to reinstall.
Then i launch the game and i get this message when updating

How do i fix it.

Ensure, that you got the latest Windows Updates installed ( ->Service Pack3) and download the game again from another Mirror like the Alternative Download Mirrors.
Or when these dont work, try it with these Mirrors:

Crossfire needs full access through your firewall and turn your Antivirus program off for the Installation.
If you got Windows Vista / Windows 7, run the Setup and Gamestart later as Administrator.

I don't have windows 7.
I have win xp service pack 3 and the latest updates
I have no firewall at all.
My antivirus ain't blocking it.
I downloaded it from the Downloader, ill try another mirror but i don't see how it will make a difference because it's at the update and not the installation i have problems.

And don't talk to me like i'm a noob, i'm a computer engineering graduate

lol

Oh and btw, i've played crossfire for almost a year now and it's the first time i have this problem.

It's is fixed now. I tried again today and it worked without problems. I guess they were having trouble with their update server.

Your thing might be working but my thing ain't and I am using win 7 any ideas? Getting frustrated cause I tried rebooting, going to properties and setting the compatability, etc, etc, etc.

Ok I'm done downloading the installer and I reinstalled it. Now the problem's disappeared...because it's been replaced by a new one. Now the patch client thingy justopens and closes along with the G4 box thingy and the crossfire game doesn't open.

Ok i solved this the patcher is willing to patch cf_g4box but cant because its already openen open systeem thingy by ctrl alt del than shut down cf_g4box. Than let it patch again, and ur done now=D

Just close the patch down-loader and restart the crossfire again it will work,

Thx and new problem...

I read this Tread and thx for the tip with strg.alt.del. But now ive got a new problem: HGW runs, and then i can see the login picture (you know, this green hero mode guy xD) for about three seconds. Then the screen turns black. 2 seconds later, there is an error: "Send error report?" and im again at the desktop. i googled the problem, but i seem to be the only person whos got this problem. Please Help !

Just run the patcher_cf.exe. It will patch successfully. Dont start with the desktop shortcut CF_G4box.exe...

Good it what you say your phatmine2011 does not work since on having opened the parcher this mistake goes out for me...

Windows 7 users open up task manager and find the files listed in processes labeled as HGWC and set priority as above normal. Then after it is done patching set crossfire.exe to above normal. This is what I did and it worked flawlessly. The only thing I can think of is its timing out. I tried everything else above and it did not work on windows 7. This is all I found that did work for me.
