Playing from a foreign country as far as Brazil increases ping to the servers (Alpha through Foxtrot including Delta), which are located in Toronto, Canada as well as in the UK (for the UK servers of course).

This isn't a problem with the game, it is a way of life for MMO's (Massive Multiplayer Online) games.
