Need help with my FPS
I used to have my ping spiking but then a friend told me to do this: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=31291&highlight=lower+ping+windows&page=3
(confiloc's answer)
And my ping is good now, but for some reason my fps are now dropping and spiking and it is getting me mad.
Anyone can help me?

I didn't actually read the thread you posted, but I'm assuming its the one that tells you to turn priority to low. And by doing that, the cpu usage and gpu usage so on and so fourth isnt putting cf as a normal priority. Meaning your pc is just sorta saying, "its here, its running, have fun." Set it back the way you had it and it should be fixed.

go to the bottom bar where the start button is
right click
click task manager
delete everything that not usefull to crossfire
try to have less procceses running
= System crash.
How about carefully looking over which process is not needed? Or better yet, use Gamebooster. (As an example sheesh). And anyways this has been answered before... -

Alrighty smartie pant's time for a smartin yourself.
GameBooster makes your computer run faster then it actually can , therefore killing it quicker.
Lesson over

Gamebooster resets you're options, if you're on low settings it changes it to normal. -

That's the only thing that's going to help is by setting it back the way you had it. Don't wanna do it, fine, were here to help as much as possible. Want to have your fps the way it is now, leave it, if you'd rather have low ping over decent fps rates. If your ping is 180 or less, before you changed it, switch it back. I'd take 100 flat fps with 150 ping over constant fps drops with 100 ping. -
Go to the options in Crossfire and turn off the effects like blood and bullet trails. Turn the graphics down to the lowest settings so your GPU isn't doing as much work. Also, my old computer had this option but my new one does not, so just check yours to see if you can do this. It had an NVidia Graphics card and I could go to control panel and adjust the settings for the graphics card. There was a simple option to toggle, between "performance" and "appearance". I set it all the way to "performance".
The game won't look as nice but at least you'll be able to play.
Within Crossfire's Options Menu(the little wrench symbol at the top right of the screen when you're in a lobby), go to "Video". Now you can select two options to decrease your graphics which will give you more FPS.
1. Automatic Settings: Choose "Optimize Performance".
2. Manual Settings: Choose:
16 Bit Color
Texture: Low
Effects
Bullet smoke: Low
Bullet trace: Low
Blood: Off
Bullet Trail: Off
Weather Effects: Off
You can also turn down your Resolution. -

CF is more CPU reliant than GPU... -
