CF Box Opens, Patcher Opens, Nothing After.

Last time I played Crossfire, was literally RIGHT before the Halloween Patch last night at 12

I had no run errors, no problems with the game, it ran smoothly, soundly, and didn't crash at all.
My computer specs meet the requirements for the game

However, upon updating the game with the Halloween patch, I now cannot get to the actual game. The usual 'Start Game' window pops up, if I click Start Game, it prompts me with CF patcher, and then Xtrap and Aegis startup, and it loads everything fine, 100%, goes through every step

And then nothing. At all. Not even a 'Program Error', nor a 'Download this'

The funny thing is, I've been looking around, and last year's Halloween update did the same thing, to which nobody was ever given any relevant information to fix it.

I ran it in compatibility mode (Every single compatible mode, in fact), I have Windows 7 Home, I've run the programs in Admin mode. I've tried to go directly to the CF.Exe program, but it says there's already a game up, even though no Crossfire program is in my Process Tree.

I mean no offense when saying this... but it's kind of difficult to patch a game, and manage to have it cause this sort of thing...

The fact that it happened again, the other happening during the first Halloween event, means that, perhaps the patch itself causes errors (If you're using the base of the original Halloween event patch)
I have each Crossfire program separately allowed through my Firewall, cancelled their isolations, and have even tried manually starting the game, to no effect.

Honestly, based off of this, I don't think 'reinstalling the game' will work.
I use a stable version of Google Chrome, and IE7,

Edit: I tried a few more times, and for a split moment, the game started to open (A black screen came up, like the Crossfire game screen when it usually does), but it immediately closed, and this only happened one time, out of about 20 by now.

Easily fixed!, had the same problem. Upload rf017 to megaupload! please

How to fix this: press ctr alt delete at the same time. Now, click processes and you will see crossfire.exe. Now right click it and left click "end process tree". Now run the game again and your all set :D

occult.. when i do ctr alt delete .. i try to end it but it dissapear.. fast
  • In such cases I saw, restarting the computer after such a case usually fixes the problem. If it turns out to be a RF017 issue like most, a file will be provided shortly to try and use.
  • talon i restarted my computer many times.. i did CCleaner i even redownload CF 5 times.. still does the samething
