Can't add Friend back onto my list!

I cannot add my friend onto my friend list... whenever we both try to add each other through lobby it gives the message 'player is already on your friend list' nothing shows up on my friend list or his... when i log out and log back in, it shows him on my list but doesn't appear on his friend list... also does not show his actions such as log in log out or show when he changes rooms/servers etc... on his list it shows me as 1 person logo next to my name which tells him that i have deleted him when he is already on my list with the 2 person logo... we try deleting and re-adding each other but the same thing occurs over and over again... can someone kindly show us a resolution for the issue we are having... we have both tried deleting and re-adding one another but still same... i would be grateful if someone has a solution for this bug... thank you in advance...
