What should I do?

When I try to play Crossfire on my laptop, a message comes up saying,"Failed to download version .ini." I used my thumb drive to set up Crossfire on my laptop, but I doubt it had anything to do with it since it worked on my desktop (but my desktop sucks and its slow). So what do you think the problem is?

Open the CF directory and try erasing version.ini.

I checked it but I dn't see version .ini. but I do see version and version.dat. What about that?
