My ping went up from 180 to 200 after the Hero Mode patch, and stayed there. Only way to fix this is to bring in an Australian server so that Z8 can finally take down West Coast permanently seeing as they hate that server anyway.
Nothing stopping Z8 from getting a licence for Aus, if they managed one for the BRs.
Yeah but isn't the BR server in Miami? -

Anterior: you don't need to move the server to move the host. Host is logical, server is physical - they just repoint the traffic
they might have not actually done the hardware upgrade on US West yet (i haven't seen it gone done yet) and maybe they're re-directing the traffic elsewhere?

if you'd actually read, you'd realize the problem, and no, it's not 'conspiracy'. it's some explanations of what could be a factor in this. such as the traffic from us west has been re-directed to canada. -
z8 has the most incompetent customer service/bugs in any game I have encountered.... firstly the atrocious customer service is just utterly outrageous. They almost never inform you of any problems or offer you sincere promises of fixing the problems. And then they let hackers rome free going around shooting through walls with aimbot.... and then they let people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on their account only to have it hacked by some nerd and then claim that they don't have the power to retreive your account for you (bs you guys can't do IP trace and history checks, don't you realise when the hackers hack your account they delete all your transaction IDs from your email?). You guys are the definition of failure, and when battlefield 3 comes out. I will tell you guys to shove it you know where.bump...... -

It's because the WC server was rerouted to connect to the NA servers due to, most likely, complications with the server upgrades. It will be fixed when the GMs get back to the office [most likely this Tuesday because it's Thanksgiving for Canadians].
Just be patient, the matter has been acknowledged by the moderators, and will be acknowledged by the GMs eventually.

From Southern California, if the server is located in downtown Los Angeles then I'm ~50 miles away from it, so I am not affected. Having good Internet helps to.

You do NOT have a 10 ping to West, OR You have not even loaded the game recently.
I have a LOWER ping than you, jackface. I usually ping 6ms to West, because I am verizion FIOS. Yes, 6 ms at lowest, usually around 8-9 ms. And I'm pinging 93 to the "West" server.
The ping that you claim to have, if you are in Los Angeles, is simply PHYSICALLY impossible, even if you are on a direct ISP business line. Period.
The current West server is NOT in Los Angeles. It seems to have been incorrectly rerouted to Toronto, using the same location as Alpha and Bravo and Echo.... -
