Can't Choose..

Yes, I'm a choob for making such a thread, but I'm having trouble.. with choosing my weapon. I'm the ridiculous type of person that has his AK days, M4 days, and K2 days..

I've tried sticking with one weapon before, but having an arsenal of weapons tempts me a lot when I'm doing particularly terrible with a certain weapon.

Anyone had this problem? I seem to make an excuse to my self saying "Oh, this map is for the AK" or "I do better with the M4 in this map." Any ideas..? I want to stick with one weapon.

Should I try quitting CF for a while if I fail a lot with the gun I chose? Or just keep failing and playing with it?

Yes, I even thought of selling my "unneeded" weapons, but unfortunately a lot of my weapons are BM.. -_- Some help would be nice :)

  • No need to be bumping threads, this is a very slow time of day.

If you're not entirely comfortable with AK, M4 or K2 then neither is probably for you.
Or just tough it out with the one you find yourself using the most.
Although theres no reason to stick to just one gun if you're not comfortable with doing that.
Some maps have mostly long range intersections, so you'll be better off with K2 or M4.
Some are mostly close quarters, where you'll be better off with the AK or M4.
  • not quite an excuse, because many weapons do have advantages in certain maps :x
for example, maps full of boxes and thin walls, full wallbang weapons will prevail on these maps, like the xm8 or the g36.

But, don't quit, just try playing with these guns and know them better, like, spray patterns and such :x (i am particulary too lazy to do that, so i often use my xm8 and my ak-47, easy SP's)
  • How about earning Enough ZP to buy some GP, or rather some ZP since it's easier to get GP on that as well-- and get a GP arsenal of weapons?

    I have a GP mall weapon arsenal.. Sometimes when I pub I go Uzi with P90, Pub S&D with M4A1 + M4-S.

In the end, some guns are easier to learn. When you learn how to use every gun well it doesn't really matter which guns you use.
  • dont take a few bad games to decide a good gun.. i remember wacking around with the ak until i realized how to use it properly
it takes time to figure a gun out
  • Each gun has its advantages and shortages. What you need to learn is when to use it, how to use it and where to use it. We play with thinking, not only clicking the mouse and keyboard.

Guys, you need to find the original pleasure of playing a game. So, common! Armed Yourself!
  • Don't pick just one gun, different areas are better suited for different guns.
  • The thing is there are many different "best" guns depending on the map.

Long/short distance, wallbang or not, weight, accuracy etc... so there really is no one "best" choice... well except M14EBR.

correct.. and it takes a bit of time to figure out which guns suit you in which maps
  • Thanks to all, but I'm trying to stick with one, or maybe two guns. Since I might never get better if I keep switching around. There was a time where I was just ****ing on people with the AK. And a week later I was completely missing everything. Same with the M4. I love the wallbang guns, but I'd rather not use them to avoid getting penalized and kicked by the so-called "pros" in this game.

I guess I'll try starting with one gun, then when I feel confident with it all the time, I'll move onto the next gun. That is, if I could master even one rifle. But it's good to have mastered at least two guns, for different competitive occasions..

I think this is mostly a mental thing. Games like these mostly revolve around the fact that your aware of your teribadness, and you tend to let yourself down.. if you know what I'm trying to say.. Well, thanks for all the replies peeps. <3

EDIT: Yeah, I have mental issues lmao.

I think AK can be for all around, it's spray pattern may actually hit someone in a really long range fight. And some really skilled AK users can kill me in less than 2 seconds in long ranges. Not HS, though. Just taking advantage of the high damage. Same goes for the M4, it seems better at long range.. but it has a decent spray also..
  • practice alot with m4 and try to get use to doing head shots.
