Hmmm... God?

The suffering of man kind is nothing new. The greed of people is responsible for most of it.
Blaming God ( any force or higher power we are inclined to believe in) for the sins of man and the suffering that exits because we neglect each other as a race, is the easiest way to not take responsibility for our own lack of compassion.
If you believe in a higher power, than understand. Your belief comes with a responsibility. -

God takes attendance and only listens when you're on your knees?Notice the first two pictures, they're praising God for what he gave them, the last one, he's just looking. Not doing anything.
If you want God to help you, you have to be faithful to your religion. Which, the first two pictures are showing.
I'm sure the little starved infant would get down on his knees and pray, but most likely hes unable to kneel, let alone say prayers he never heard. -

Of course not, And also everything happens for a reason.
You have to stay faithful no matter what happens. That's what EVERYONE should do, Not just Christians and that's what I believe. Not saying that you should follow god but BE STRONG.... -
First picture, she got lucky, second picture, he practiced enough. God didn't have anything to do with that, those pictures are misleading. That child dying in Africa isn't the result of him being a disbeliever, but more because of all the greedy basta.rds who took all the wealth and resources from them.
Religious people are insane. -
I'm strong enough to recognize that everything that happens in my life is a result of my actions, I don't need someone to blame when bad things happen and praise when stuff goes my way except myself.
Though I'm not sure that logic is applicable on the starving children of Africa.
My happiness is more accessible.
Although, rest assured that if world hunger is ever solved, it won't be because God granted them eternal stockpiles of food, it will be because we did. -

Except for the whole famine thing being because of the lack of nutrients and natural minerals their land maintains. -

Yeah that's partially what I was saying, being strong for yourself. The rest is what you want to believe in...so I Understand what you're saying. -
god doesnt make advancements lol..a community is only as sophisticated as its people

They didn't evolve because they didn't have the need to. Us European had to evolve because we lived in another climate that forced us to develop more sophisticated clothes and tools, and later on our society forced us to develop better cities, weapons etc. if we were to survive against other nations.
It has nothing to do with Africans being less sophisticated than Europeans. -

God helps those who believe, trust in him, and follow his laws.God takes attendance and only listens when you're on your knees?

The kid could be helped, but God doesn't just make things perfect, it will all end when he says it is finished, but untill then he works through us and we're supposed to be doing something about the suffering caused by sin in the world.
God provides more blessings then we deserve, to complain about whats going on when we all deserve hell is ridicules, instead we should be thankful for what he does give us and use it to better the world.
Can the clay say to the potter, why did you make me this way? Who are we to complain to God? And yet he listens to our prayers.Pretty much.
It's that traditional believe what we believe or go to hell attitude.
It's believe the truth, and follow God's laws or go to hell. I won't try and make anyone believe anything, and if someone won't listen, I won't even argue or try to convince them of anything. I'll simply tell them what I know to be true, whether they believe it or not is up to them.
People who try to get on others about there beliefs are going to far, simple stating what we believe and living it is all that needs to be done.
And enjoying every minute of it.Daggystyle wrote: »

Exactly, what happens to us and around us is entirely up to us and how we go about life, to blame God for troubles we bring upon ourselves is ignorant.I'm strong enough to recognize that everything that happens in my life is a result of my actions, I don't need someone to blame when bad things happen and praise when stuff goes my way except myself.

Agreed completely on the child statement as well, although I believe God will help, it is us that have to do the work. -

I fail to see how you people are able to worship an arrogant and malevolous god. -
And I fail to see how you can miss out on the blessings, forgiveness, and joy he gives to an undeserving world.DatEm0tioN wrote: »I fail to see how you people are able to worship an arrogant and malevolous god.
Insulting each other is going to get no one anywhere.. -
Personally, I do believe in the power of prayers, but not in the way you might think. It is reassuring to believe an all-mighty force could hear our pleas and answer to them, it gives motivation and renewed will. People might assume this renewed confidence comes from the Holy Spirit or whatever you call it, but it's simply the power of our mind.

I'm yet to experience a blessing sent by God.And I fail to see how you can miss out on the blessings, forgiveness, and joy he gives to an undeserving world.
Insulting each other is going to get no one anywhere..
Am I not praying hard enough, not believing hard enough or just not kneeling in the proper position?
(Also he insulted God, not a user, so I'll let it slide. I'm sure God will smite down on him with great vengeance if He was offended.) -

I'm not insulting, i'm stating a fact.
Have you actually read the bible?
What blessing are you speaking of? When something good happens you people stand up and say Thank god for this and thank god for that, but when something bad happens it's never the hand of god. -

You're mostly talking about Old Testament God, which was vengeful, jealous and especially cruel towards blasphemers. New Testament one is remarkably all about Love and everything. -

If you're honestly asking that question let me take my statement a step further at the risk of being the laughing stalk of these boards.
Do you believe in Jesus? Have you excepted him as your lord and Savior? Do you believe he died and rose again for the remission of sins?
True, I took the statement to personally, as if you were calling me stupid for thinking something you think is stupid is real.DatEm0tioN wrote: »I'm not insulting, i'm stating a fact.

Have I read the bible? I actually laughed. Yes, I've read it from cover to cover multiple times and study as much as I can every day.
Blessings? I suppose you can look at it that way, but from personal experience I've had to many things happen to call them "coincidence". I'd have to be the luckiest guy on earth. -

Why would someone do that? Because it was written in a supposedly Holy book which was rewritten and perfected many times throughout History by the hand of Men?
I'm pretty shocked about your blind devotion to a concept you cannot prove. But I guess it's what you call Faith: believing in something that can't be proven. -

They weren't starving that much until the few last centuries. They are now developing and they'll soon surpass the Europeans, the same way most Asians already have.
Africa isn't a nation btw.
