Ok, I'm not one to write on these forums but I'm a little peeved off to say the least regarding z8's lack in communication, consultation and customer support. Being a long time customer, I have invested a significant amount of money into a so called 'free' MMO Game, of course being my choice, and not only pay for the entertainment, but also financially contribute towards the continuum of quality assurance your product provides. In saying that, as a longterm paying customer, I expect your company to update customers of server issues/changes within an appropriate timeframe (ie. prior to - rather than after the fact) and inform customers of the impacts these issues/changes may affect on your product. z8 have a responsibility to operate under fair trading and to date I have not seen my money well spent. I'm sure your response is, 'well don't use our business' and fine, I won't, however I'm sure you are also aware, I am not the only customer who feels this way. So you do the math and consider whether your company should rethink and action more appropriate treatment towards all customers.

Haha, my ping got affected too from 174 to 238, which is the same as my alpha ping, and i also noticed that everyone's ping in west has changed drastically. ex. people with 170-190 ping are now at the 230-260 mark and people with 10-30 ping are now at the 70-90 mark.
But my ping in alpha is normal.. -

I feel the same way, I've spent too much and others, that I know will stop getting ZP which are big buyers if this ping is permanent.
US West server isn't such a big bunch of players, but in US West 1... the players there are mostly high-ranked and big-zp buyers. z8's losing a lot of income if they make this ping permanent. -

You for one, spend a sht load and other Aussies as well.
And all the Asians there spend a lot of money on zp also. -

I feel the same as Katt and S7yx. I won't be buying anymore ZP until some appropriate responses are forthcoming and remedial action is taken. -
Dude, I don't wanna flame you, but 'having good internet' and ping aren't really related at all. Ping is Round Trip Time (RTT). The critical factors are distance and the amount of infrastructure you pass through to cover the distance (hops). Sometimes made even worse by poorly scaled or configured infrastructure - symptoms input buffers full and overflowing leading to dropped packets.
A high quality fibre link and a dial up link will have very close pings from same source-destination-source.
I have a 100 mbps internet link - I still have a horrible ping to West Coast.
Then my combination of being close to the server + my ISP having good infrastructure makes me unaffected. I know people down the street from me that have worse ping than me, one has 30 while I have 16, and we live feet from each other, so my Internet is "better" in te fact that it has better infrastructure. -

none of us care about your internet connection, nor is the thread even remotely about your internet. j4mmer only corrected your mistake, no need to start an argument. -
From Southern California, if the server is located in downtown Los Angeles then I'm ~50 miles away from it, so I am not affected. Having good Internet helps to.
I LIVE in Los Angeles and I have fiber optic internet... 23 ping to 108... So no, you're wrong.

Yeah your right but I was just explaining that for some reason I annotated affected, but with allthe other people that are affected there has to be some problem with the server. -
not playable lol i shud make a video of how i was following a GR player in GM trying to backslash with and axe, i chased him from B to A and no damage. please reply mod or gm let us know what happen to the servers.

I think this is our reply - although its not clear how this affects West Coast as a problem with UK is described (unless that's just being used as an example and the servers in general are experiencing 'technical difficulties' - that phrase always reminds me of watching TV and your program goes pfft - you just know that someone spilled their coffee or pulled a cable :P). -
RM_JACK then your lucky for some unknown reason why all this server upgrade BS hasn't effected you. I have the same internet connection and speed as you and live just as far from the server as you. But as of right now my ping went from a lovely 10 to the high 80s.
I have to agree with Katt and s7yx and z8s terrible customer service and lack there of updating us with info on current situations. Its bad enough this game is almost UN-playable with the current hack situation [which they still have done nothing to try and fix, but its all good cause they gave us zombie mode]
z8 pull your heads out of your A**ES and fix this BS.

Again, obvious mismanagement by z8's admin team. This thread was created hours before the above announcement link, which is not relevant to the US West Coast server. Again, customers are left in the dark only to make assumptions and speculation. The crossover in communication between z8 and customers is inefficient and ineffective. Obviously admin don't read these threads, so again, my time and money is wasted. Really Saidin, if your admin staff are degreed in business?...I shudder to think of their competency. Yea...like come on z8. Playing with 220-230 ping was fine by me. But 240-250 now that's ridiculous. I find it odd that the z8 team had not even given us the slightest warning of the maintenance to the servers.
I have to say why the f.k not? This maintenance seems to sound like one of the biggest maintenance you have ever performed to the game. Lazy? No, your support team is lazy. This is beyond lazy. -
Wow, J4mmer finally found the forums! BTW you guys would do well to listen to him, networking is his job!
My ping went up from 180 to 200 after the Hero Mode patch, and stayed there. Only way to fix this is to bring in an Australian server so that Z8 can finally take down West Coast permanently seeing as they hate that server anyway.
Nothing stopping Z8 from getting a licence for Aus, if they managed one for the BRs.
