CF dont start on windows 8

hi , i installed windows 8 from micorsoft site and installed CF , first i got X-Trap error which text is "The Operating System is not supported" but now the error doesn't appear but CF auto disappear after HGWC loading

Windows 8 is still in development. Its not officially released and most applications would generally not support it.

I shudder to think the route your thought process goes through if you think that downloading and running a beta version of software is a good idea when you are not a developer or beta tester. You cannot expect any current software to work with Win8 at this stage of development. It takes time. This is an operating system, not some random squiggly line generator to keep kids amused.

you can run the game in Windows 7 mode, and it will work.

so far i cannot load the game. I have managed to install it but it will not install the patch in the beginning.

Installing a beta OS if you're planning on gaming is the stupidest idea you could think of. If you can re-install Windows 7, I'd recommend doing that.

No, it won't. CrossFire cannot be run in compatibility mode.

No, it won't. CrossFire cannot be run in compatibility mode.

Can't expect people to have the least common sense about computers.
It's like running Linux expecting to game w/o spending some time getting it to work first (Not just running it on wine either)

See I'm surprised noone said run it on virtual machine. Because that would be even more of a failure than trying to play it on w8
