To all players with unusually high ping:

Mainly UK and EU players experiencing proportionately higher than normal ping to the NA servers, it would appear that instead of being routed directly, your connection is being routed down to London (as13285.net), then to Western Canada (shawcable.net) (bigpipeinc.net), and finally to it's original destination, Eastern Canada, causing an almost double ping size.

You could contact your ISP to have them route to the NA IPs directly, or wait for this to be solved by the hosting company.

  • Looking at the cap, Shawcable has issues with their own routing. I'm running a tracert from Flint and get four entries for them, instead of the seven you show. Still too many, but the response is so much better.

  • I just played a ping battle in E8, Mikey lives five miles from me.

Initially we both had 340 ping. He has a great connection, as do I.

tbh i think this game should come with a manual re-routing system that players can set for themselves because alot of people are getting some serious ping issues due to the lack of quality international exchanges aswell as internal, i mean yeah it would cause havoc asking for all these changes manually and they would have to get approved etc but it may make some peoples playing experience alot more "fun" lol.

i mean i cant even decide which local to international exchange my connection is routed through would be easier if we could all decide where and when our connection goes to certain exchanges for certain things, prioritize the connections, you get what i mean?

I know what you mean, however, most decent ISPs will manually re-route a connection for you if you ask 'em. This seems to be shawcable's problem, hopefully they'll solve it soon enough either way.
