That's why we don't participate at those leagues, it's harder playing against low pingers and we don't expect to win. Of course it's a gain of experience, but it's a waste of money, although we do our own leagues, and i can list some of the clans that usually participate on those leagues if you want

What if it didn't cost money to enter?
Let's have a hypothetical here. What if the league was totally free, and you were allowed to enter. Would you participate? Would you frequent the league website? -

i wouldn't enter if the league was too directed towards only competitive play, but it wa like, moody and somewhat not so serious like wogl, i would play .-.

I wouldn't due to my terrible lag that ****es me off , even in a room full of brazilians my ping is often the higher, but i know plenty players that would. But let's say, hipothetically i get a better ping, i would certainly participate. -
Just because known teams have died, doesn't mean new teams can arise. It's technically a cycle, just as in real life. Professionals retire [lawyers, doctors, etc.] and new ones take their place [fresh out of university or training]. I think that even though some teams are leaving and breaking up, it doesn't mean other teams can't be made. I mean, some of the best teams can break up, but not everybody leaves the game. Some stay and make their own teams [doop leaving Life Line, as they were known back then, and making Letting Punks Know, LPK is a prime example].

One thing I saw recently on e8 that just pis$ed me off....
A pub clan... w/ like 10 members in one room... kicking everyone that was any good in the game.
Their response... we were tired of hackers in other servers.... so they came to echo 8 and kicked out the legit good players?
Honestly I don't want those people on e8
If they want to practice get better... fine I'm all for it, but don't kick me or anyone else just because we're better. -

That's what I want to do though... I want to get those people that want to be competitive, or want to play in E8 or whatever. And explain to them how things work, and teach them the general way things operate. -

Well, evidently there's potential in other pub stars playing competitive. I've seen tons of players do that. My good friend, Ayce. has been a pubstar for a while now, he got good enough, and converted to the competitive section, and even played in professional leagues with LPK. If he can do it, I think it's valid proof that anybody can. -

This thread so far has been clean, there has been no bashing of foreign players. In fact we have been able to carry on a decent conversation and had a chance to get the viewpoints of a few foreign competitive players. -
For clans: It's basically one or two people want to go and the rest don't. Another thing is for me that I feel that I'm not good enough.
What makes you feel you aren't good enough? People can improve, but improving off of a bunch of low skilled pubstars isn't going to help you improve as much as working with people in a team who can work with you and teach you tricks they may know. -

I have to be honest , The guy with the red avatar is correct , i dont feel up to the standars of my clan , our leader is legendary but i am one of the worst members in my clan
for example i cant aim with my sniper , it any other mode i can kick some serious ass , but with snipers i am terrible
so basically i tend to stay away from situations that might get me killed -

Visualize it this way. If you play with the same people that are your level, you're never going to improve by going 100-0, let alone 15-0. If you play with people better than you and have a positive attitude, you have nothing to lose. Sure, they may destroy you, but you're learning. You're learning from their habits, their gamesense. There's nothing prohibiting you from learning except your own personal "phobia" if you may, of being killed or being made fun of. -

It's really bad for me. It's taking me around 3 minutes to load a game. Pre-ZM Patch, I was loading in less than 10 seconds.

It's the same for me. I usually join mid way through first round, doesn't bother me at all. Using bad excuses like that doesn't make you better. People will understand if you can't load automatically. They might get a bit mad, but it won't be for more than a few seconds. (unless they have an awful attitude) -

An increase of over two minutes is more than I can take though. So when they fix it, however long that takes, I'll be back up and running as a CF gamer. Until then, I'm gonna play Killing Floor. Because in 3 minutes of loading, I can get about 10-30 minutes of playing on hardcore. -
we have lives. we have jobs that are more important then a game. Most of us dont like to be serious about a game that is meant for fun.
Yes we hate playing with hackers and m12s/scar L but we just want to have fun and not have to worry about making it to a mach and practicing more often.

I know plenty of people that handle university, jobs, school etc as well as getting on for a few scrims.I use to play competitive but I got bored of waiting around/having to skip things in my social life to scrim/practice. I'd rather just get in a room and chill with some friends.

I don't see why people say you need to have loads of free time for practising and everything to be competitive,
in my team - we have the odd strat session here and there for each map, just to show where we went wrong in the match before or whatever - then it's basically if we have 5 on, we'll scrim, if not we'll just chill, play a little minecraft, pub, whatever; until we have 5.

- Trash talking: When my oponent does not respect me then I see no reason to compete against him. I've never met a mature player in the ESL so far.
- Ghost mode: No ladders for Europe.
- Skill: I already noticed that I didn't improve since several months. I think I don't have the talent to compete with good players. I don't know why but I can't really aim with this engine.
- Wireless keyboard: Do I have a good or a bad day? That seem to depend on the delay of my keyboard. The lower the better.
- Rulesets: I want to play a lot of games in a short period of time. And I want to use the weapon I like.

everyone starts out somewhere skill-wise, you'll improve if you put effort into it and everything i'm sure, I started as a GMer, so I was pretty awful aim-wise (still am!) but I gradually improved.

things holding me back are:
1. im 13
2. don't understand any of the lingo those players use lol
3. sure I get 1-2 k/d in e8 but im too scared to go lft lol. -

How could players in SA play competitive? There are no servers for them nor is there any big league for SA players for CF. Well as far as I know
We can start small, let them scrim with us. If nothing else it MAY help ease over the hatred for brazillians that we are all aware a good portion of the community has. -

1. Some of the competitive players are even younger.
2. The only way you'll ever understand is by playing with teams, and listening to what they say, and sites they call.
3. Try ringing (filling in as a team's 5th) for a couple of teams first if you're worried you'll get rejected, if not, ask for a try out.Then let me teach you, I'm about to make a new team. Are you NA? If you are I will teach you, if you aren't I will still teach but I will be unable to scrim with you.
