Ranting~Just asking for Trolls here -.-

Warning: This is a opinionated rant! As such if your not interested Don't Read it, let alone comment.

I really don't know the proper section for this rant of venting is but the Crossfire Barracks says: Discuss all things related to Cross Fire Here!

As such I'm puting this here.

Now I understand that Z8 does everything they can about hackers. However I'm not QQ'n about that, more so on the communities seemingly common use of hackusations. I can ignore hackers, I mostly leave the room if I haven't played more than 1 round. But, it vexes me when I manage to join a room with a [MOD] or LPK/LifeLine member(or any other League High tear team), and see hackusations flying all over the place and a F11 macro getting spammed.

Not to mention myself getting kicked after I get my first kill of someone who is already 1-9.
"The chance of a player having less than 0.5 kdr being just plain bad is more likely than a hacker in the room."
~~
~~

The good ol'Beta days. Back in the day a few months after beta the majority of CF players were NA. As it turns out anyone with over a certain amount of ping got kicked.

However now it seems to be the opposite, "MiniPings" are being kicked out right. Because the majority of the CF population don't live in NA.

My ping averages are:
Alpha/Bravo/Charlie/Delta 11
EU Servers 100-150
Southern US servers 30

I feel like something might be wrong when I join any of those servers and get auto kicked for having the lowest ping in the room.
~~
~~

I never use in game chat, during pubs. Unless someone politely asks me a question. My usual motto is:
"Let Chat Be Chat".

I couldn't care less about players speaking/spamming in another language. As long as they understand my radio messages its all good.
~~
~~

The F11 Trigger finger: The act of pressing F11 as soon as a voting window comes up.

I don't usually auto F11 a vote(However I admit I have done so) unless I know that the person is hacking. If the other team calls out a team member then I would watch the accused player until I'm sure that they are hacking. Now I understand that this isn't ideal for getting rid of a hacker quickly, but it vexes me how ignorant people choose to be. Even when they, themselves would be quite upset if they got kicked because of peer-pressure.

Likewise I don't usually kick an Idle vote unless I'm sure. Nor do I F11 players that are doing bad; their learning. As long as they don't have a poor hackusation attitude they deserve to play the game.

However, I'm usually under the understanding that if you are really "sucking it up" then maybe you should leave and join a new game. That is, of course the player's decision.
~~
~~

Now be it, Crossfire is a baddie game mainly because of the community(hackusations, ignorance, Internet anonymity). But, Crossfire shouldn't be expected to be immune from these troubles.

The scrim community and the veteran players(If they still choose to play CF) are probably the shining light that seems to be the only reason I continuously comeback to CF after long rage QQ filled absences.

I think I'm done with this stupid post, I'll probably post again in about a year. I'm not an active forum user in the slightest.

Until I need to respond to something,
Happy Gaming! Especially In those games where F11 spams, Hackustaions, "noob", etc have been uttered more than the amount of bullets shot in said games. :D

  • Completely see how you needed to get all that out of your system. There are certain people and members of " said " community who play all the time without caring for hackers and drama creating kids over the internet. Certain clans out there who band together around 6-7 clans with roughly 50-60 members per clan all amazingly active throughout day and night who never argue or fight with each other ( no joke ) All Canadian, American and British players. All pings 10-110, Friend lists etc.. a Good network I have setup. It cannot be penetrated by all this internet drama you talk of. Our clans consist of kicking any youngsters or people who cause us headaches. This is a game meant to be fun. Find some actual real people to play with. :)
  • Agreed, surprised to see such a well adjusted player on CF, who actually thinks before hitting a button.

I always do that. But usually, when an obvious hacker is hacking, they often kick me first.
  • back in tha day i used to get 40 ping now ets 90

    Agree with everything you said.

I can relate to this. I find I'm usually having the most fun with people I would most likely would be good friends with irl.

Now I got whispers in game about the following paragraph. Just to clear things up, this is what I meant:

[MOD]s and Higher tear league teams are not the ones throwing hackusation bombs all over the place. A misunderstanding, players occasionally however not often, either through carelessness or ignorance, start accusing [MOD]s and Higher tear league teams of hacking or being noobs. If I may present a few examples after this source quote:
    iHopz wrote: »
... But, it vexes me when I manage to join a room with a [MOD] or LPK/LifeLine member(or any other League High tear team), and see hackusations flying all over the place and a F11 macro getting spammed.

    1. There have been a few times(when I say few I mean like four in all my CF career) where players State: "That [MOD]______ is hacking" followed by "their testing out Hacks, apart of their job" or "[MOD]s can do what they want"

(I cleaned up the messages because they were grotesquely miss spelled, even for the internet) [MOD]s can not do as they like, nor are they above the terms of use agreement. Yes, [MOD]s do get away with things but hacking is certainly not one of them. I doubt [MOD]s test out hacks, to find blocking solutions or what have you.

    2. Several times I have been in rooms with members of a S5 team on wogl/esl/eu etc. Now I can not say that just because a player participates in a legitimate event that they 100% do not hack. However, the sole fact that a player can engage at a high level of strategic and skilled play in wogl/esl etc must have some meaning. The fact that it is a pub is beside the point to how well a scrim player does in that game(they will usually do well), and as such the need for hacking is pointless.

High tear teams are labeled such because they have achieved a curtain amount of success in the scriming community. These teams are known not only because they win but because they participate in events that upholds an image. The integrity of not only these events, but also the team are at stake when it comes to hacking/hackusations/trolling/etc. Because of this there is an added responsibility to uphold these views making un-tasteful behavior unwanted.

Now, this added explanation may have went over peoples heads because I'm Lame and can't explain things properly but I hope it cleared some of my harassing trolls in game.

Reading over my original post irks me. Mainly because I think I came off condescending towards the CF community. I was QQn, raging if you will and I failed to mention how awesome CF community is.

Crossfire like any game has good and bad and for the most part, depending on the sub-community within crossfire you associate with, It can be: 1. More good than bad or 2. More bad than good. As it stands now though I believe crossfire as a whole is a very successful game, both: gameplay and community wise.

Until next time, I'm off to play some Minecraft cuz I feel like chillaxing.
  • Well that was boring to read.

    Thanks for that.
