The point is the same as the EXP+ items. To change your rank. Useless? Don't think so. Say that to people who buy EXP+. Any other questions?I don't see a point to a rank-reset. You'll only lose the ability to use certain high rank weapons and other items, and all this because of a silly little picture of no value. -

While your suggestion on the other hand, is meant for not having to deal with the poor attitude of the community. Which will automatically fail, for a community with a poor attitude will just find something else to moan about.
When you are playing with people that throw insults at you based on the highness of your rank, do you really believe that it is about your rank, or that your rank is just an excuse?
Its not your rank that is the problem, but the people that insult you. You really think that people like that will stop insulting you when you stop ranking up? No! They will just call you something other than a farmer. That's it. That's how this pathetic world works.
You're trying to put a chubby kid on a diet, hoping that a bully will stop calling him fat. But then what have you achieved? Will that bully stop being a bully, just because that one chubby kid is no longer a chubby kid? Or have you just put that bully on another chubby kid, who isn't on that diet yet?
You are suggesting we all pay for a diet we don't need, if it wasn't for that bully.

No. I'm suggesting to get an ability to lower rank for money, just as you can rise it with money. I didn't side step. It's exactly the same thing. Maybe people think that their character will look good with their rank higher, I think that my character will look good with my rank lower. Got a problem with that? As for the suggestion, I personally think its not a bad idea. Its a novelty for those who get to a stage they want and like to keep it that way. For instance, someone likes looking like a Silver Bar, but eventually that will change from playing. Their favourite rank is gone for good unless they make a new account.
I personally see it like the stopping Evolution method in Pokemon. Why would anyone cancel or even stop the evolution of something thats clearly stronger? Perhaps they like the look. There's probably alot of reasons.
The fact that it doesn't affect anyone else negatively doesn't make this a bad suggestion. If someone wants to they can, the world doesn't change.
Would probably make an option to unfreeze it if they so desire for free though. -

Actually, there's a pokemon that only learns flamethrower at a level above the level it evolves at. -

Gee, how old are you...I am 20 and pokemon yellow was my first game, along with my pikachu edition color gameboy.
I like the idea the OP said. I think silver bar looks real good. (i am only butterbar atm) If I ever reach 1st Lt, then I will not want to go past it.
