can't tell where the sounds come from
Hi guys,
Well I don't know if its only me but I'm never sure from where the sounds come. by the way I use headphones.
In every game I try to listen to the steps and it works great. It works good in hl1 and css. I always know where my enemy is when I hear them step. If you have hl1 try it yourself, play online with a friend and tell him to hit the wall with a crowbar. Stay next to him and do some 360 spins and you can hear how the sounds spins with you.
But in crossfire I never know where my enemy is, I can only guess. I hear steps but i don't know where he is.

idk, the sounds in cf confuse me a lot. I'm a silent killer, I always try to listen to the sounds and kill the enemy stealthy.
Just figure out the different step sounds. Metal, Wood, Wooden crates, Concrete. That's half the battle. -

I do that in EE. When someone is walking on wood, then I know he is in the hotel or GR base, I have to wait for him to get pass the window but in generally its not easy for me to tell where he is by only the sounds. If you do the crowbar thing in cf it doesn't sound that good like in hl1. In hl1 you feel like the whole room is spinning. When I stand next to a shooting guy and do 360 spins then it sounds more like, shut the right ear, shut the left ear. You don't have this 3d feeling in cf. -
