People don't really realize that this is just another version, G4 just publishes it.
They don't decide what is introduced when - they can have opinions on it and requests, but at the end of the day its the developers and actual owners of the game that decide what goes in when in which version.

Well yeah, rumors is really all there is going to be until something is decided and ready to be put in to the game.

G4 won't know what goes in to the game a year from now - but say that they did.
They still couldn't say so, it has to be "We can't comment on what may or may not get in to the game in the future".
"It is unlikely that this will be added to the game" is also an option.
It doesn't mean something won't be added to the game, it might be intentional to create suspense.

Insinuating in any way that it WILL be added, knowing or not knowing the truth, is a breach of contract that could lead to G4 losing the right to publish Crossfire all together.


And of course, announcing something G4 themselves has control over (servers, clan page updates etc) is something they're very unwilling to do.
Not to be mean to people or anything, they just learned from the UK server fiasco.
UK server was first announced to be coming very soon.
Something happened. It took over a year before it could be introduced. During those 14-some months, every European player was pretty much outraged.
There wasn't anything G4 could do to speed the process up, but they had to take the fall for it. PR nightmare.
So things aren't really announced too far in advance really.
