i have this problem, because x-trap is a FULL s.h.i.t, so i download x-trap from Saidin's link and all works fine. -
To all people who still might be having this problem and who have tried an uninstall/reinstall recently.
What Anti Virus program are you using?
If you are using AVG or AVAST then these anti virus programs are picking up Cross Fire as being malware. Subsequently they are deleting files associated with CF which is causing you to be unable to play the game.
The simplest solution is to disable your Anti Virus during installation of the game. And add the Cross Fire files to the exceptions folder.
To list this process exactly:1. Uninstall Cross Fire completely using this post:Alternatively AVG comes with a button that can reverse a quarantine. You can attempt to restore those files and try running the game.

2. Disable (turn off) your anti virus.
3. Download the newest version of the game from http://crossfire.z8games.com
4. Install the game.
5. Turn your anti virus back on.
6. Add the Cross Fire folders to your exceptions within your anti virus program.
7. Run the game.
8. If your anti virus picks up the game as a false positive then it may have already modified the files. DO NOT QUARANTINE. The anti virus will remove and/or modify necessary game files and you will not be able to run the game. -

hey, GM... don't forget about x-trap.. or maybe x-crap
and don't forget to post your link to last version of this soft. Because many glucks at logon linked only with x-trap, which files can be banned by different antiviruses or damaged during install last x-trap, for example. So - HOWTO repair x-trap - must be presents here. imho -

The X-Trap problems people were having earlier have been fixed. That was due to some server instability.
This is specifically for AVG and AVAST users. Though the process should be used for all anti virus programs (especially the free ones).
