Free anti virus scanners are often "overly protective". Which is not always a bad thing, but in this particular case an update to the game obviously changed the signatures of the game files.
This caused avast, avg and some other free scanners to pick up legitimate Cross Fire files as malware. The simple fact of the matter is that they are not malware.
The general public installs these free anti virus programs without looking at their configuration or how they work. They install, expect to be protected and leave it at that.
Often times these free scanners need minor tweaking which will ultimately improve the performance of the pc. In this particular case a simple addition of the CF files and folders to your anti-virus exception list is all it takes.
If the Anti Virus has already quarantined or changed some of the game files then you either have to find a way to reverse those changes or go through the process described in this thread:

And, why would Z8Games place viruses in their games ? -

We didn't. And I'm not sure what would make you believe we would. (or Smilegate, or Neowiz or X-Trap)
If you have a virus it is not from the Cross Fire files. We also suggest spending less time on spam sites, or sites that offer free zp, or hack sites that might add viruses to your computer (relating to Cross Fire).
Free Scanners pick up false positives all the time.
For example, on the AVG site there is a link where you can go, report a false positive directly by uploading files and tell them to not scan for this file because it is not malicious.
This is also why virus scanners have exception lists. To allow you to config the necessary unregistered files so they don't show up.
An example of a FALSE POSITIVE is eating a poppy-seed bagel before a drug test in which case you may test positive for drugs. When the opposite is true.
The CF Files merely did not have a signature that was recognized by AVG or AVAST. Because they are free scanners they have less resources and less care for this type of action. -
