if u have a team, go for a mg (mini or rpk) i dont really like gat, cause the only time u can really spray is the start of the round.. most of the time you will have to move

if u wanna pub with idiots, go for m14 or one of the aks

not 1 hit hs, runs out of ammo fast, 5 shots only if burst mode, slow pull out time, inaccurate long distance(more so than deagle), slow reload...

If you don't already have it get the shock absorber. You'll be able to drop from anywhere that i know of on unearth and not take any damage. Plus it's good to have in other modes as well.

If not that then just try for more guns or get the 50% exp bonus item(ofc i'd wait on this one till the ZM fever has passed lol).

Go for the RPK Gold, or the FN Minimi. They are okay speed and work the best on power. The gattling is too slow, and if you are in that room on the bottom floor...what about reloading? That only works with 3+ people that have heavy MG's. The dreads and munants, and shooters will get you. So I recommend the M60 ADV (bad recoil) rpk gold or FN Minimi.

Obviously it's all down to everyone's person opinions...I use minimi and I'm fine in unearth and can finish the whole normal mode when got a decent team.
