The processor has a bus speed of 1066 while the motherboard is locked to 800.

On a side note the difference will be night and day. You are working with a low end single core processor.

No, that is an alternative to what you are looking at. It is slightly downgraded... I believe the cache was smaller. I'm too lazy to confirm that. Regardless the performance difference would more than likely be marginal and would be miles better than what you are working with atm anyway.

I don't believe so. I can't remember how FSB work exactly as I never had to deal with a lower FSB. Even if it did work it would be downclocked which would remove the point of getting the higher tier processor.

The thing with it would be if the bios even supported the higher FSB processor... you could check into a list of supported processors.
