Your future, does it look bright?

if you dont plan on starting your own business then you literally have to go to college to get a good job.
It doesn't matter what it is, as long as you can get the job done, and done well. Anyone will hire you. Granted some jobs will be harder to obtain without having gone to college to get a certain piece of paper.Colleges are good if you're undecided about a career, but if you KNOW what you want to do, then might as well go to a technical college.
I didn't say they were bad at all, I just said they're overrated, they should be used to be helpful, but not the end all be all, only way to get things learned. -
If we're being serious: I studied psychology @ uoft for a year but I really didn't like it, now I'm at george brown studying architecture and I actually like it so far
If we're not being serious: I want to be an astronaut.
If it wasn't serious, everyone would be naming superhero.
At least I would.
One can dream. -
Well I've been mighty apatheic in high school, not that my gpa is bad or anything (it's like 3.7 or somewhere around there un-weighted), it's just I'm a junior who hasn't taken the act or psat yet. Got a 24 compositite on the plan test back during sophmore year pretty much told me what I already knew math/science are the route for myself and on top of that it was guessing a score between 24-30. Horrible at foreign language though have had a consistant C or low B in that class since freshmen year =/ even though it's been honors level.
Thinking about physics, like the physics of star movement and testing for dark matter etc. The entire field of physics is intresting though.
If that should fail could always get a teaching degree and get some history degree and I'd be fine probably.
As far as finances are concerned I have a wack job mother who moches 2k off my dad a month and if the crazy (insert explective here) wasn't around I'd be set. So you know yes I'm entitled to saying such cruel things, won't go into details of why though. -
Math is DEFINITELY not my strong point.
If anything I'd like a technology based career, since it's advancing and growing.
I'm also interested in astronomy, but we'll see how much it really interests me based on my current astronomy class at high school.
Lol.
Well you need lots of Calculus for Astronomy. Especially Calculus. Thats like the basis of understanding how orbits function. How to find planets, stars, other galaxies. You can obtain the same tools, just later.
Yes, but why?
Better to do it now, then later -

I know, astronomy interests me, that's why if the class I have keeps me hooked I will need to start studying math like hell.
Ehh, lets agree to disagree on the college part. -

Teacher = last resort.
As a teacher you at least get summer of.
Well, most.
Al tough you have more homework than the students
Unless you get a few good TAs. -
i am 41 i play Free to Play Games in my mothers basement where i also live. i go to conventions frequently and the girls there totally dig my leonard nimoy imitations. (ok, more like middle aged ladies) only joy i will ever have in my life will be the moment
i realize that the rope is finally thick enough. -
My life is already bright with a steady job and lots of moneh, but yeah, it'll only get better.
And what is your career/job?
Also a question: How much experience with computers would you recommend before going into a technical or regular university to study, well computers?
I haven't picked a specific field yet. -

Don't much care bout my future, i'm quite content atm.
all i want is a pair of shades like Adam in deus ex.
So what happens when it's time to wake up and start finding a career?i am 41 i play Free to Play Games in my mothers basement where i also live. i go to conventions frequently and the girls there totally dig my leonard nimoy imitations. Sounds, relaxed and fun. -
Plans to become a Commerical/Internation Pilot.
It's a long road and I won't get started right away but it's what I've decided and I'm already working on it.
I'll probably work as a web designer as a part time beginner job to earn up extra cash that'll go back into my Flight Training. Which is incredibly expensive lol. -
I ****ed up High School. Still ****ing up High School.
Clinically depressed, family is falling apart, my dad is a drunk and I haven't seen him in months. My brother is an unemployed Infantryman, and I try to help him out whenever I can.
My sister is in jail because of her dumbass boyfriend.
It's been a little too much for me.
My personal life has always had a negative effect on my social/cademic life and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
But I do have ambitions. If I do find that light at the end of the tunnel, I might be able to get on track to become an architect or find any physical job that lets me travel.
I think I got a little too personal with that.
TL;DR? I'm workin' on it. ;D -
I'm doing well in high school (gpa~3.5)
after high school I'll go to the army for sure, i think ima serve in the army for 5 years then go to college and study to get a master degree and become a nurse.
That's my plan, hope everything'd go exactly the way i wanted it to be except if I don't die on the battle field LOL. xD -

I don't discuss my personal life, but its a menial yet high paying job in a small part of the metal industry.
Wouldn't consider it a part of my career though, just a way earn money without effort until I decide on more specific future plans.
No university is going to have "know how to assemble a PC" as an admission requirement.
Anyway, I wouldn't know. I haven't gone to university yet.
Don't know why people are so hell bent on going to uni straight after graduation, and putting themselves in endless debt.
Get a job, pay for your education in cash and come out with a REAL future - not one always darkened by debt.
I don't mind waiting to 25 before getting a higher education. -

I would at least wait till I have a stable job with enough money saved up, but5-7 years?
Seems too long for me.
