My stance didn't change, it just took me a while to clarify because I didn't think I would have to (and I went to work, then to bed, then woke up to 20 posts of 40 year olds behaving like god knows what).
  • Lol, Dot are you getting the old people riled up again?

Crazy old people, just saying guys. It is about time for you guys to get off the computer and go to work. Providing you didn't ACTUALLY quit your day job to play Crossfire. (God, I hope you didn't)

My opinion didn't change, and to me it was very clear what I meant.
But of course a misunderstanding gives you the right to insult me in every way possible.

    Child.
  • Listen guys the point to this thread was to change the miss-conception that all older players are sad blokes who sit in there underwear in a dark room drinkin gallons off coke and playing CF all day .. thats just not the case an i hope that came accross .. because its not just DOT but many younger players think that..
Any person who sits in a dark room playin games all day needs to look at their lives, that not an age thing cos there are many many teens who waist their lives away doing that...

An DOT can i just say W.T.F ELDERLY.. I'm not even 40 yet :):):)

Well, that was kind of my point.
Those who do that are sad - but obviously not all 40 year olds does that.
Didn't think I would have to clarify, since its obvious to me - but some people are just hell bent on misunderstanding and not reading between the lines.

    True that.

I juggle a personal life, work and Crossfire just fine - if someone needs to play Crossfire so much that they can't work for 8 hours a day, something is seriously wrong.

Because forums to me are a testing ground for manipulation, I'm quite the sociopath.
  • <o.o >

There is different kind of personalities.
There's different kind of future plans and dreams.
Someone wants to play all day around outside, others might prefer internet as their playing ground.
There is no need to take literally things like these.
Different personalities naturally likes different things.
If I say I'm thinking of a flower.
Some might think that I'm thinking of a Rose.
Another one thought I had Daisy in my mind.
Third person came up with a Bluebell.

(And I was thinking of a Rutland beauty)

Same way are people thinking and imagining this "40 year old gamer".
Try to think the way others are thinking.
There never is only one option or way to think.
And most of the time people are generalizing!
When generilazed, there is exceptions. Huge amount of them.
    <*^_^*>

One group, which Dot is talking it's only one group.
Another one is, which someone else was talking.
You guys keep picking up examples from different groups which have basically only one common thing - Age.

    Do not take everything literally.
Try to read others' posts with common sense.

(And just to say: I'd love to keep my online friends as my friends still when I'm forty. If I'm ever able to live that long. <*^_^*> <3 *Hugsies* *Giggles*
<- Never going to grow up)
  • [MOD]dot wrote: »
You can by all means play after forty.
Just my humble opinion that if you have nothing better to do, you probably didn't end up where you planned to, which is sad.
Few people plan on sitting in front of their PC playing Crossfire instead of playing with their children or doing the wife when they're forty, I'd imagine.

Its not a personal attack, I really don't care who you are or what you do, its just how I would feel and how I do feel.

what's sad is that someone in your position isn't smart enough not to insult the player base for which he is supose to work and support. you should be removed as a mod at the very least. Due to your young age, does that make you naive enough to not think this wouldn't start a flame war? Is that what Mods do? Have you ever considered that maybe by the time some people are in their later years is when they have the time to play games. They don't have to work as much, have more money to spend etc? Your ignorance astounds me. You have not business being a Mod.
  • I'm sorry, I'm not gonna repeat myself. Read the discussion on these last few pages.
