zero hackers with team view 6
Hi. As a clan leader there has often been that sinking feeling that maybe someone in the clan is using a hack. So after watching many replays and asking others, what can you do to be sure not to kick a very talented player? 4 months ago we made it mandatory for our clan to download team viewer 6, a free program that allows an out side user to see your entire computer and all programs, download folders and documents. As a good honest player has nothing to hide, they should not mind having the leader or a clan LT take a look. The way we do it is with team speak and team viewer 6. A clam member can be asked at any time to provide their team view address and pass word. They must stay logged in to game as well as team speak if they are on. We have become good at searching for hack programs. Normally there is no problem but if a player refuses then you may ask yourself why?
Now here is the good part. Because we use all this, the underlying attitudes of miss trust are gone. The clan feels more like a family, and when people read the clan rules, if they hack they are less likely to apply. If having a clean clan and no underlying accusations amongst clan mates sounds good to you, you might try this. I was happy with just how easy it is to use. The only thing worse than having a hacker in your clan is kicking good players without proof because accusations from others have put pressure on you to do so. Good luck and good hunting.

Do you know you can download files from host pc with it?
Also he can hide his cheats

I was worried at first as well. I thought to my self what right do I have to look into others personal things. So we talked about it in Team speak. And I am close to my players, they are like family to me. We fight together and die together. The reason I started our clan was to find like minded people. Most in clan BANG UR DEAD are adult players. We know better than to look into peoples pics. or what they write for work. Our goal is not to invade their privacy. In fact I myself have been team viewed many times. My willingness to follow my own rules helps to build trust. And the pay off of general trust is worth the inconvenience. I don't think it's for everyone, but we stand for honest game play and sharing a point of view that we can stand behind. The funny thing is since we started doing this, many more high rank and professional players have joined our clan. And they are happy about having their name attached to a clan that takes kicking hackers seriously. As am I.

I won't let a stranger take a look in my computer, it's personal. And hiding hacks is so easy. Easily you can compress the folder that has the hacks in a .rar file with some usless name. And you would never think I have hacks in such a file. -

So basically, this thread is an ad to your clan.
This belongs in another section.. -

yes I realize that hackers will always try to get away with it. But I feel as though some action is better than none. And I don't think this will solve the hacking issues, I just want to discourage them from being in our clan. -
i like the idea. i just use my gaming computer for....gaming. nothing more. no sensible data is on there, so there is no privacy issue. i would understand it though, if people who have one computer for all activity (work, gaming, personal stuff) are concerned about privacy issues.

NO it's not an add. I let in game play speak for itself. I have found and kicked 8 hackers from clan using team viewer. It's not that easy to hide a hack as you think. Because they must stay in game while team view is running. this post is aimed at clan trust and stopping false accusations. Like anything in life it's not perfect, but it helps and I find it a good tool to discourage hacks from joining a clan and pretending to be legit. The only time some one is asked is when there is suspicion or accusation from another player. -
It's a good thing to do if ur a crossfire maniac,i like the game,i play it,but i will defenetlly not let no one to look in my pc.I will not agree to this not even to get in to the best clan from cf!!
Please keep in mind that the host computer can see every thing that is being looked at. They can end the session at any time. We all so use Team speak to talk, If a player is asked to provide information it is kept to game drivers and cross fire folders.
The pass word resets automatically after each session. No one can ever return to the computer with out having the new pass word. -
I'd leave any clan that demanded I do something in any way linked to my personal life.
This is a game.
Having someone rifling through my files or begging for personal information is unacceptable.
Well, for me at least. For some, being in a special clan is more important than privacy.

Team viewer is a simply a tool. like any tool if placed in the wrong hand it would not work very well. I trust the LTs in my clan they have been hand picked and they trust me. If there is no trust even in a game, why spend time with people or attach your name and reputation to them. I don't think it's for every one but some people hold the idea of NO cheating in high regard. I think it is important. People who do not share this point of view need not apply.
The suspicion of hacking has destroyed many friendships in cross fire. Team viewer is a way to fix this problem. And the funny thing is, most of the time it is used to help clan mates with other issues. Like how to fill out hack reports. How to do surveys for zp and even fixing problems with computers. It works as a great teaching tool.
All in all, it has helped bring our clan closer together. -

I Agree, if you can't trust a member, don't add him. There are some riduculas things Minty does... makes me wana scream, but he's legit, get over it, some members are good. No need to look through their files to find "hacks". -

I would rather someone take a look than secretly think I use a hack. And I would rather look If I felt there might be a problem than harbor a suspicion toward a friend. -
Isn't part of a team being able to trust one and other? You should trust your friends not to hack.
As DOT said, no ones going through my personnal files of family/friend pictures and other programs I may use, for example I have a password file on my computer, all it takes is for you to open/print screen and I then have to change every password within the file, even if you would of said "oww sorry, didn't realize it would contain all of your passwords" I still wouldn't trust you enough to not change every password. If anything this would lead me to dis-trust my clan leader. -

You know like most peeps here got crappy pc's
If the got running tv6 and crossfire = epic lag!
Than you can't even play
Just ridiculous anyway teamviewing people
Improving anti-heck and the coding of crossfire is what should be done.
And not harassing people.
P.s I got nothing to hide you can come and tv me but I won't be playing with 5 fps

I guess asking people to read the posts before they start writing is to much to do?
The host computer can see what is being looked at. They can stop the connection at any time. The pass word changes automatically. No one can ever enter your computer without you giving them the new pass word. The goal is not to see you pics. or listen to your music. It is to see the program files. Namely the cross fire folder. No one cares about personal information, nor can they open locked files. It is a way to look for hacks, that's all!!! -

i think the idea behind it is, that there is an optional possibility to be teamviewed. the program will not broadcast 24/7. but every player knows that they could be teamviewed. -

No one plays while being team viewed. They are only asked to stay logged in so they can't restart there computer or have time to erase files.
I can't help with X-Trap updates, This is just a way to keep hackers from joining our clan.
I know that in a perfect world you should be able to trust everyone. But this world is far from perfect. Team viewer helps us build trust in each other. If you ever get the chance to use Team viewer, you will understand why I think it's a good idea. -

Exactly, there for the temptation to hack for some that may think about it, is less likely to be acted upon. -

also performancewise it shouldn t be that big of a deal. i don´t have that beast rig and i can frap gameplay footage without even noticing.
also for people using older rigs there could be a screenshot tool. taking low res shots at random times. sucks up less performance -
Trust ... I also run a clan and i know my clan is clean .. and i don't need to rifle through someones pc to know that, i know all my members and i trust they don't hack, they know if they hack they gone and reported, if that trust is not there they leave or kicked ... if you have to spy on your clan to trust them that says more about you than them !! .. No matter how much i love this game or how well i know and trust ppl in the game i don't really know them well enough to give them access to my pc , i know we are all a bit paranoid about hacks but that is going way to far IMO ...

You make a good point. I can only say that when we had a smaller number of players I felt the same way. I only tried finding a solution once I had been sadly disappointed by people that I had trusted. Some of the people in my clan are real life friends, but now that the clan has grown many I have only met in game. I think that if any thing the chance that they may be team viewed discourages people who use hacks from joining our clan. I say our because the LTs in clan act as co-leaders and all decisions are talked about and agreed upon. Including the use of team viewer. Just the idea that everyone was in agreement helped add lots of trust between us.
