Are you mostly going to play games? If so, the 2600 is overkill, unless you will also do some CPU intensive tasks like video editing, 3d rendering etc. Go for a i5 2500 and a better GPU, like the 6850.

this guy is zee rite person.
i have a cpu with the i7-2600 and an HD 6770, it can run almost everything fine, unless it's something widly intensive like the witcher 2 on maxed graphs .-.
but it uses no more than 30% of the CPU power .-.

invest on a good GPU if you're going towards gaming, since these i5's are more than enough to run all those newer games without a problem...
(even a quad core extreme edition plus the hd 6770 will run BF3 on max settings lol)

The 2500k i5 would've been a better option, but yeah, since most CoD games of late have been CPU and RAM whores, you'll be fine.

That GPU will easily get you 60+ frames on BFBC2 on max.
