Laptop Help
gah... Fine.. Since giggletron thought that I was using the thread as the pm system.. Then i'll put it this way.. I only said @tasty, because he was the one that was helping out with the computers the most... Anyhow, Here.
What are the lowest requirements that I would need to run games like Cod black ops, Crysis 2 in default options smoothly without lag? Also, what is the lowest possible price that I could get that for? Mind listing out things like the lowest ram I would need, the cpu, etc.?
Now, I hope this thread wouldn't be closed >.>

you are better off listing your price range so we can find you the best deal for your budget instead of finding the least requirements.
well I dont know.. just gathering information right now.. Anyways, it should be around maybe 500, if that cant get me anything, then probably around 800, but as i said, as low as possible. -
Where will you be taking this laptop? Is it a stay at home laptop, or an always on the go laptop? The thing with laptops is, you'll have to pay a hefty price tag (compared to computers) if you want above average performance in games, especially in any game named Crysis.
$800

$1000

Both of those will show solid performance in Call of Duty, and acceptable performance in Crysis. Here is the general performance of the $1000 laptop, based on the graphic chipest it has.

As you see, it scores around 40-60 frames on medium settings in Crysis 2, and around 70-80 on medium-high settings in Black Ops. -

Overclocking a laptop GPU is a bad idea.
Anyways

I ordered this one /w
Intel Core i7 2630QM Processor
6GB DDR3 SDRAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 2GB DDR3 VRAM
750GB 7200RPM HDD
15.6" LED Screen @ 1920x1080
Should even run high-end games smooth at moderate settings.
Got it for 879 trough student discount, should be 1K normally. Idk any American e-tailers who sell it tho. -

well. I am in highschool, so I kinda travel around with it a lot. I.E. to school, friends' houses, vacations, etc. However, the weight of the laptop doesn't really bother me that much, since I wouldn't be carrying it around on foot for a really long distance normally, so that's okay. I understand that a desktop would be much cheaper to have the same performance with the laptop, but I need a laptop not only for gaming but for schoolwork at school and at home as well. And I dont really have the budget to have the desktop and the laptop at 1 time. So I guess I would have to take a good performance laptop now.
Keep the suggestions coming. They are good!
