He or his leader probably heard that name in some games or movie and thought it sounded cool, but the armed division of the Schutzstaffel was nothing like cool. Under the leadership of the Reichfurher-SS Heinrich Himmler (a really nice and kind person, mind you...), they never were officially part of the Wehrmacht, yet they had more or less the same tactical value. In order to prevent a wall of text, I'm gonna refrain from listing all their war crimes, especially during Operation Barbarossa.
But hey, since no one really cares about History, I guess it's okay to use clan names such as these, names that should be put to rest instead of being used by irresponsible teenagers.

Quite sad that people dont care about history at all. Besides that there are some people interested in history, and for those the name might matter .but as the guy above said: history isn't people's favorite subject, so i don't think the name mattered anyway. -

We should never ignore our past History, but to use it as such, it is disrespectful, and not only for Jews but for so many people that fought and died in this war. You don't care and I see it, and I know you would discredit me and what I said just because it is easier to do so.
Easy to judge others, right? Yet I don't believe you had any second-thoughts about using that clan name and what it might spark in some other people that knew. If you really know about the Waffen SS and what they did, I wonder why you chose to pick that name, or at least strive to honor it. But I guess it doesn't matter? You weren't there to scream in tears that you weren't a Jew or communist when a Waffen SS operative was lining up his rifle at your head while you were kneeling, nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. Yeah they were so badasss weren't they?
Yeah they were so cool and they struck so much fear into their enemies didn't they? It is so cool when you're not actually the poor bast.ard who gets to be executed because of his ideology, orientation or belief. I think we should all get over it really, because it doesn't matter anymore, right?
Once again, irresponsible teenagers.
