BSOD when starting Crossfire

Well, this is frustrating. Maybe a year or two ago, I could play Crossfire just fine on this computer. So recently I have reinstalled it again since I found out some friends of mine play it, and then I had happily downloaded and installed it. After calling them up to play, I went and hit the patcher and updated it.

And that's when my screen filled with blue terror. Tried stupid things like running as admin, disabling firewall, changing firewalls, blah blah blah and in the end it screwed up so many programs so bad I had to System Restore.

So before you folks ask, here's my laptop. Keep in mind that a year or two ago it ran Crossfire >60 fps flawlessly.

OS: Vista Home Premium
RAM: 2x 1024MB DDR2 (2GB)
GFX Card: Mobile Intel Series 4 :v (still ran the game fine)
CPU: Dual T2300 @ 2.00Ghz
Direct X 11.

Please help, thank you. I just want to play this, I remember it being really fun.

EDIT: And no, I could not search for BSOD problems on this forum because the captcha image comes out broken. So I can't search at all. Sorry if there's already a thread like this.

Bluescreen? Normally it is a hardware or a driver error but I just know a few things about that. Maybe someone else can help better than me.

Oh right, I should have said that yes, I have tried updating my drivers.

I'm just confused because it worked fine before, but only now I'm getting these errors.

Try playing a diffrent game first, what has better grafics. see if you BSOD. if so, then your grafics card may be faulty as BSOD is hardware error, not software

I play Unreal Tournament 3 just fine if that's what you mean.

I play CF just fine on some days, and on others I get hack tool detected and a bsod right after that.
I usually shut down processes that are unneeded and then play regularly.
Doesn't always work though
