The best Headset for CF?

Ok sadly it appears the people rocking highend headsets aren't around this weekend or they just simply dont post their headset secrets... so Im narrowing my choices between...
http://www.astrogaming.com/a40-headset-astro-edition
Which comes with a "wireless" option.
http://www.trittonusa.com/index.php/products/gaming_audio_technology/ax-pro/
Which is as highly recommended as the a40's.
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/headsets/devices/7248
Which is actually wireless.
http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3-gaming-headsets/ear-force-px3.aspx
Looks solid as well.
So any input or experience with any of these particular headsets or brand names would be nice. -

All I see is a bunch of over priced garbage. Have fun wasting your money.

If you don't know who EviI?/CJ is then you should find out and talk to him about these.
Also have friends who use them as well.
I actually did look at those but the wireless ones appear to be exactly the same (except with a wireless option) for the same cost. I did like them and that's why I linked the wireless one. -

Why no one is going for other headset brans other than the ones specialized oon gaming only?

Well I do use my computer for my main multimedia source (music/movies) as well as ventrillo.
But since its a gaming forum and generally speaking if its top notch for gaming its top notch audio period thats why I asked gaming headsets and I will still need a mic. -
How was I trolling? More like stating the truth. Also, open your eyes. Many people have listed great products, ie: steel series, sennheiser, audio technica, etc. Just because it doesn't have gaming in the title doesn't mean it's not a good product...DeadLikeMe wrote: »No need to troll, if you got nothing nice to say, and nothing on topic don't say anything at all.

As others have stated it depends what type of sound card you have as well as the headset.
For awhile I used a pair of gamecom 377's with a bad sound card and did bad as a result, Changing to a different sound card improved them tremendously as a result, up until they broke anyway.
Currently, i'm using a pair of Logitech G35's, durable, and has a built in decent sound card, but I'm unable to ultilze the sound card which is kinda sad because usbs have their own.
You have two options as I see it.
1)- Go for getting a new beast sound card which you will either a)- install yourself self or
- pay someone to install. Then get a headset you find comfortable with that uses audio jacks. From the research I've done in the past the best sound cards cost a pretty penny, the headsets will as well.
2)- Go get a usb headset that has good review about bass and treble, they aren't comparable in quality to the above combo though.Typically, a decent pair runs you around 100+ usd, but I'm basing it off my experience. The usb headsets, are inferior to a good sound card/ good audio jack headset though. -

On this note of stupidity I think i'll go to bed. Night guys. -

Actually you were very insulting, and well lets just stay on topic, you've stated your opinions, and I assure you I am/have researcheing/ed everyones suggestions, even yours.
I listed ones that as far as information I can find out there are the top quality Headsets to choose from, just cause I haven't mentioned anyone elses suggestions (yet in some cases) doesn't mean they are completely discounted.
Anyways try to stay on the topic of this thread please. -

hmm, not aways, the quality you're paying for a "gaming" headset is probably way worser than that you would pay for a good headset without that "brand price" .-.
Try the AKG K 240 MK II tough, 200 bucks at max, nice mic and nice sound :]
The HMD 280 PRO is a good option too, tough idk it's price range, variated throught all the sites i've done research on .-. -

Thank you for your insights.
I've been using a wireless usb headset so my soundcard has been a non-issue to this point, and If I do go for a wired pair of headphones I will definitely invest in a new soundcard. I'm still worried about the wire breaking over a bit of time though on wired ones and me being out a whole headset. Thats probably just my previous experiences with cheaper wired headsets talking though.
Id like to see if you can find anything different about the performance specs on the wireless Logitechs I listed and see how they compare to your G35's (they look identical to me). -

get one soundcard prepared for 7.1 like
this, with the 6 jacks, so you can make a decent use of all the newest headsets prepared to give you full surround experience (if you're going for the high end headsets or a home theater-esque set) but a 5.1 sound card should be enough to have a good usage of all the 300 or less headsets -
I just heard to not use wireless.. I don't know why though and forgot from who but they knew what they were talking about.
Crossfire doesn't support surround sound (so I heard...) so 5.1 would be the best way to go without being too pricey.get one soundcard prepared for 7.1 like

Best headsets of logitec for gaming:
Simple said:G930. The unit is more comfortable and offers wireless but at the cost of having to deal with the stupidity that comes with wireless technology (power saving and awkward power button). See addendum.
G35. None of the complexities of wireless, but doesn't necessarily stay on your head.
Full review: http://pxquad.blo.gs.pot.com/2011/03/logitech-g930-vs-g35-second-look.html remove the dots between O AND P
Anyway The G35 is fine on my head ;/ maybe he has a weird head shape..... -

well, he said his computer is a multimidia device, wich he would be watching movies or playing high end games on it, so a 7.1 sound card would be a nice addition to improve quality over the system :]
but yes, it is surely pricey

Ah true but 5.1 should give almost the same satisfaction for under 100$.well, he said his computer is a multimidia device, wich he would be watching movies or playing high end games on it, so a 7.1 sound card would be a nice addition to improve quality over the system :]

Crossfire doesn't support 5.1
Anyway for GM you would be using the Stereo anyway since that is the best for GM...
Otherwise the 7.1 digital sound(Fake surround sound) is awesome for video's and music.
On the Logitec headsets
P.s for all the peeps here go to your local store and buy all the cheap ass earbuds you can find and try them out you will be surprised.... sometimes the work better than any expensive headset in GM
But look out for hearing damage ;/ -
SamuraiMoMo wrote: »Crossfire doesn't support 5.1

Still true but he does other things as well. :P Still provides better sound if you have the right settings.
Get all my info from this thread right here: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=163964

i tend to disagree
logitech products suckz now burn me and my house while screaming a purifying chantic over my dead burnt corpse xD
@chimpz
yeh, i think he should get a 5.1 system with the 5.1 headset, would be a great combo, but if he doesn't wants to upgrade his system, i think the HD 280 PRO's are the best headphones price/advantages wise =o
altough he wants a mic, he can get one for less than 5 bucks over every single goddamm hardware store all over the world xD
