patch updater not working?

i posted a thread involving issues with the sound being choppy and the gameplay being a bit laggy wich i didnt understand because my computer is far beyond the minimum requirments. I had the idea last night of tryin to patch it to see if this would help but when i click on the patch updater in the game folder an empty white box appears with an ok button. When i click the ok button it opens up an iexplorer window and says page cant be displayed. Really not to sure whats goin on here.
