Suggestions to the forums.
I got two suggestions to the forums that I find quite neat. Or, one of them is quite neat while the other is more or less just for fun.
1) Subscribe to other accounts.
Well, if someone noticed, there is a way to subscribe to a thread so you get notified when a new post have been made in that particular thread. I found a similar idea in another forum and I think it would benefit for some people here.
Well, the idea is that you can subscribe to another forumers account so you get a notification whenever he\she posts. So if you enjoy reading what a certain forumer write, you can just subscribe to his\her account and you get a notification when he\she posts a post or creates a thread. It's as simple as that.
2) A "like" function.
Well, the "like" function is something that I also encountered on another forum, it's more or less an add-on that is made just for fun and will not really benefit except having more number below your post count in your public profile.
Anyway, the idea is that any forumer can choose to "like" any post if the post was funny\if it was a good post or simply because the forumer liked the post. Whenever a post gets a "like" then the creator of the post will get another like count on their public profile. An idea would be to put the like count below the "total posts" count on the public profile.
There would of course be restrictions to that, like that a forumer cannot "like" his own post and that he can only like one post, one time. There could also be a post restriction to be able to use the like function to prevent people from liking it using alt accounts and such, but unless one would get some sort of reward or achievement by having lots of likes then I doubt it wouldn't even matter.
The amount of likes a post has will most likely have to be displayed on the bottom of the post below the signature of the forumer, and instead of having it display "player 1, player 2, player 3, player 4, player 5, player 6 has liked this post" it could display "Player 2, player 3, player 5, and 3 more have liked this post." It could display 3 random people that have liked the post each time someone view the thread that the post is in or it could display the 3 latest people that have liked it.

Just some thoughts and I hope to get some feedback, there is nothing wrong with being inspired of functions and such that other forums have and I bet this forum would benefit if it had some new functions added to it.

The "Like" thing awful lot sounds like a reputation system.
It's not really a reputation system like the karma was back in the suba days, because it doesn't really give you anything of value when you get more "likes". And since you can't really see the amount of "likes" a forumer originally have when you see his\her post, you don't think that he\she must be correct because of the amount of likes. Mostly because as I stated earlier, it can only be viewed on the forumers public profile. -
the reputation system would be nice but then people would spam ribbons in the ribbon suggestion
good man: got 50 reputation
great man: got 100 reputation
bad man: got -20 reputation
terrible man: got -70 reputation
i was to lazy to think of good names -

The points of this which many do not get that you cannot dislike, it only let's you "like" a persons post, and people should not be getting some reward for having his\her posts "liked" since it's only a number. It's not like the karma that we once had when we were getting rewards. Because if people were getting rewards for having likes, of course only mods should be able to "like" posts, but that would ruin the function entirely.
Or think of it as the "like"ing on Facebook, but instead of "like"ing someone's status message, you like his\hers post or thread. -

People spam silly ideas in that thread anyway. -
YES. ADD THE LIKE SYSTEM.
jks.
The subscribe to user sounds cool, first real 'new' forum suggestion i've heard for a while.
That was actually supposed to be the main suggestion of the thread, but since I wrote more on the "like" system, it seems that it has gotten more attention.
