The future of Cross Fire?
I've been playing CF for almost 3 years already and... to be honest It is already becoming an old FPS game. Come on man... don't you see how the FPS market has been evolving? I do love CF and I think CF has a great potential and that it deserves better than what It is right now:
poor FPS experience, old game engine and hacking situation. Only 3 critical factors.
I would love CF to become a modern FPS game with innovative stuff like new game engine to offer more detailed maps with directx 11, scale, effects, weather, lighting, sound. not just a bunch of maps with wood crates and containers.
I agree CF has done a great job designing cool adictive maps but like i said... I think CF deserves better that what it is right now. And with this I'm not saying you need to make the game only for high end PC users. I think is possible to develop a game for both low-end and high-end users.
I would love CF to become a high quality FPS game to compete againts all modern FPS games out there. anyone could say "if you dont like it go play another game" but is that the real answer?
why not evolve by adding all the features that most modern FPS game has like: 3D iron sights, sprinting, weapons customizations and attachments, dynamic weapon reloads, better anti-cheats systems, etc. Everything that is needed to become an innovative game.
And please don't come here and say that all this It's impossible because It's not. you can see games like UberStrike implementing some robust 3D iron sights on their weapons (at least it is something) and It is a game that could be tagged as "low quality game" or games like Interstellar Marines or BeGone which are both using Unity game engine and those games looks nice graphically speaking.
so what i want to know is... will Cross Fire offer us more of the same for the next 10 years or even more? The free to play market has evolved and so is the the FPS genre, from now on free to play games should not be "low quality games" or tagged like that.

Actually, the game's supposed to be that way. It's not an over-made game that is desperately trying to appeal to the children that think that quality means everything. If that was the fact, why would specific games not be some of the top played shooters?
3D Iron sights, and things like that will not come in the coming months. That's for sure. This game wasn't designed to be like that. It was designed to be a regular game. It's not supposed to be real life.
Well, as engines evolve, so will the need for a new one. That SmileGate knows. The game will evolve, but when and how isn't our problem. They develop the game. If they make the decision to move onto another engine, that's their decision. The game won't stay the same forever.
As for the hacking situation, read the stickies. -
I agree with you. Unless Crossfire improves the details in the game, more people will quit, especially because of the hackers that have increased since 2009. But, you must remember that this is a free FPS game, which means you can't expect things to be extremely amazing to where it should cost money. Free games never have the best details in the game, but it's good enough to play for a while. But, who knows, one day maybe the Game Moderators will think more about the game than the money, then they will work their best to add more weather effects such as lightning, duststorms, etc...But, it's extremely unlikely to happen. If most of the illegal programs in this game cannot be prevented from entering the game, I highly doubt that they'd have the ability to add such amazing weather effects.
I may be wrong, but from what I'm seeing, Crossfire is working on preventing the hack programs at the moment more than adding details to the game. -

i dont understand the punk buster/game guard views of people. Out of Punkbuster, xtrap, and gameguard people are always going to beg for what we dont have. we used to run gameguard, and that was a hell of a lot worse than it is now. punkbuster blows, almost everybody on warrock cheats. FREE GAMES HAVE MORE HACKERS THAN PAID GAMES. IT WILL ALWAYS BE THIS WAY. -

Well quality doesn't mean everything you're right that's one of the things that has kept me stuck to CF during these years ut i think it is time for an upgrade.
and as for 3D iron sights i'm not sugesting it because the game need to be real, but i think iron sight demands more skills from the players than just shooting through a crosshair. -

It's not free for me nor many others either because we appreciate the game and support it and sure you'll get Z8 staff and others saying you don't have to buy anything but that is a fail argument, as if it wasn't for those that pay there would be no company, no game and no mods:p
I don't think anybody expects any game to be hack free because it is impossible, time consuming and costly, however having a game with only half the hackers that play CF is a reasonable and real goal. -
The way I see things, crossfire is an excellent alterative to dropping 60+ on a game.
While yes zp can be bought to enhance your experience it's totally optional, they don't ever force you to pay.
If they enhanced the graphics a large amount of players would not be able to play. Plus that should only happen if the game is making a profit and decides based off the average rig, to upgrade the graphics.
If anything I'd prefer hit reg to get fixed. -

over the years CF has gained lots of players that play this game almost 24/7, they love it the only thing players want is the best for the game. so z8games or smileate should take in count that dedication that many players have to the game and reward it with high quality upgrades.
being a free game is not an excuse anymore, games like A.V.A are proof of that, WarRock recently upgraded their textures... so upgrades to games are necesary these days to compete against the other titles and that way you'll save a lot of players from going to play another game and also the game would be open for a new wave of people. -
I said that it's possible to make a game for low-end and high-end pc users without having to play the game with lowered graphics. it could be developed in a standar graphic setting for all common Pc's and the optional high quality setting for those with high-end pc's.

Someone in my post said that CS 1.6 is old... and yes, indeed it is. Now take a look. CS' developers knows that innovation is a key movement to keep their community stuck to their game, they already did it with CSS and now with the new upcoming CS Global Offensive. watch and read the information in the link below.
does anyone still need more reasons to understand that games need new upgrades every now and then to compete in the market? and as you most know the FPS market is one of the most over crowded these days so that should be taken in count.

well i'm not telling them... i'm suggesting them to upgrade their game if they wanna compete in the FPS market. that's just my opinion. If CF will be tha same thing over the next years i'll probably quit playing CF.
and... i do have authority to tell them everything. since i am (or we are) the ones who play their game and buy ZP.
and cut it with the "it's a free game" thats no excuse. -

*facepalm* It's already been stated MULTIPLE TIMES that the CF system / engine (whatever you want to call it) will not work or be compatible with programs such as punkpuster.
