Crossfire Patcher v5 your client is invalid version Re-install the latest version

I think i posted this in the right spot, sorry if i got it wrong.

mmk so after 3yrs i came back to play cf. Buut i can't seem to find a mirror that works, i've tried old versions, i've tried west coast east coast servers and dl it from fileplanet .-. i've had 2 different errors First one is with the new version from cf mirrors

^funni it was their download i got it from, it should be the latest. Second was with the one i dl from Fileserver.

File is changed: W[2007]L[0]
crossfire.exe

i did alittle research with the first error and seen ppl saying to change sumthin in the version.ini file..i can't seem to find it. I've uninstalled and installed again so many times i think my computer might hate me.

The fileplanet version got closer to starting..it brought up the patcher n all..did the patch it was the next step it spat the dummy at.

Can someone help me? i'd really luv to get back into playing even with my monster of a ping
