Mouse/Keyboard Freezes

Hi all, recently I have been experiencing a problem where my mouse and keyboard stop responding temporarily during gameplay (enough time to get me killed). It's strange because after I release a directional button, I'll continue moving in that direction and I can't do anything to stop it. I have to wait it out which generally gets me killed. Is this because I increased my mouse sensitivity in-game? I keep my mouse sensitivity at I think 67, can't remember for sure.
