Failure to launch game after HGW

I am running Windows 7, with 8GB ram, AMD dual-core 2.65 GH/z processor, 500MB ATI graphics card, with DirectX 11.

When i start up CF, the launcher comes up with buttons to register and start (as usual). I chose to start, and the patcher opens, see's there's nothing to patch, and closes.
Then HGW loads up, and then disappears (nothing on screen, nor in the taskbar). The application remains active in task manager for another 10-15 seconds, but then it disappears and then it acts as though nothing ever happened.

No error messages occurred at any point in the process.

My first step was to disable the firewall on my machine.
Secondly, i forwarded the ports required through my router.
When those steps didn't work, I uninstalled, and re-installed (then restarted).
Same thing happened.
I then uninstalled CF, and re-downloaded the installer, yet the same results occurred again.

Does anyone have any other troubleshooting i can do to try and figure out what is causing these problems :/
Any more info anyone would need, lemme know :)

  • I am now 96% sure this is a graphics card issue... On my other laptop, which is running XP, the game launched fine...
It seems the step that is failing to occur, is the changing of resolution when crossfire.exe is launched, causing the game to crash instantly.

I know that the game is attempting to launch, because i setup a network monitor, and it shows that crossfire.exe attempts to access network (and is allowed), right after xtrap loads...

A friend of mine, who also has win 7, with ATI graphics card, can run CF without issue. Is there anyone who can do any other in-depth troubleshooting with me? It would be greatly appreciated.
