Idea for hacking

Since there are so many threads on how to handle this hacking situation, I just like to share my idea on my very own thread, hopefully the Mods would understand... And not close this thread. My idea for controlling this hacking issue, is to give the in-game-mods the ability to kick anyone who they think is hacking, but this mod would have to be trustworthy, and work undercover like the GMs and the MODs say they did. These MODs can go kick from both sides as many times as they can. Anyone agree?

Comments

  • It has been already proposed countless times. They don't care.

  • yeah we have asked for this 100 times alredy.
  • Well, I was thinking, why wouldn't they do this? I know they say that its one the developers disagreed and 2 that it could be abused, but I was just thinking, maybe it would work, if they interviewed the person to hire as a MOD, and made sure that the person they hired wouldn't be abusive.

I know you're making a parallel with how MODs are picked and monitored on forums. In-game it would be harder to monitor them, logs can only tell you so much. Unless they require each ban to be handed out along with a replay, maybe that could work?
  • I got some inside info.

They are considering ingame Mods with bannable power. Its not something that cant be done.

  • what we need is valve anti cheat.
    OR
We need is a system where if a player is in illegal activity (lets say hacking). There would be a alert button in ESC menu, where once pressed. Contacts the next available GM or Z8 headquaters or Forum mods(via IRC), and at the same time sends the current gameplay save as well as real time streaming footage to the GM/Z8Employee/ForumMod. With that gameplay footage, the one with that data can fastforward from the beginning to the end and can make sure if there is an offender. IF there is one, actions can be made such as permanent banning, or temporary ban with a minimum of 1 month. And the one who was caught will most likely have an unconditional sentence since he/she is caught in the act with evidence. And if he is given a temporary sentence he/she shall also lose all benefits of the game such as no gain of EXP,GP, as well as KILLS. Only deaths shall be registered until a period of 6 months.

HOWEVER! If there isnt an offender, one who alerted the system will go under questioning and receive a penalty such as loss in GP (lets say 35,000GP)/3,000ZP(If the player is a constant ZP spender) AND/OR a temporary ban of 7 days. This is only to prevent ones who would abuse the system such as alerting even if there isnt an offender.

    That is all.
  • Would one, "accidental", kick by a "corrupted" mod not be a sacrifice that needs to be made to help the other thousands of legit players in this game?..

What makes VAC so effective is that you require to buy a new key along with creating a new SteamID in order to keep on hacking after you got caught. Problem with free games is just that: it's free to create a new account. You also don't even need to confirm your email address so the whole process takes minutes when you get caught. IP bans are easily dodged when you simply have to reset your modem too.

Now we suggested in-game mods to take the fight to the hackers in the warzone, yet as in any warfare you need to cut-off their supply, their infrastructure, to achieve a decisive victory. Even with in-game mods, there would still be hackers. Maybe we can be so thorough so to discourage many of them from trying but.. the hacking sites need to get shut down in the end.

Corruption, must be dealt by with people bringing up the issue to the government (Z8game in this instance). And let them handle the issue with constant pressure/lobbying and the peoples' unanimous will for justice. Otherwise it will just continue...

That idea is extremely well thought. There is a balance where you can ban someone and get in trouble for abusing it. But the only problem I see in this, other than that, I strongly agree with your thought, is that some players may really think someone is hacking when he really isn't, and its kinda hard to tell from one person who is abusing it and a honest mistake.

maybe close this topic and discuss further in existing threads with same topic ?

True, but the lovely part of the system is that it has a delayed timing for when you are caught at cheating/hacking which means those who develop the hacks/cheats will have the most trouble in seeing if their hacks/cheats are detected so they could fine tune it. Because the information isnt accurate and timely, they will have to find alternatives. Plus VAC isnt as used much on other games compared to Xtrap.

The problem in using a widely known anticheat(such as xtrap, punkbuster, gameguard) is that other developers are making bypasses to the program. And since the program is using almost the same upgrade/update as all the other games it protects. It can be easily bypassed if only ONE of the thousands found the way, and then all of the rest shall take that knowledge and create hacks. Which is why this game suffers the same hack problem almost at the same intervals.

I agree with your opinion of the flaw in my idea. But that is how it must stay. After all, unable to distinguish a person who is abusing it to one who pressed it by mistake is the same as a Police officer questioning a person who is speeding, going through Red traffic lights with the intention of reckless driving or rushing to go to the hospital because one of his/her family members was caught in an accident. (or something similar). But the thing that must be done in both cases is either "Pay a fine" or "be let off with a warning"

Perhaps a warning for only once for mistake, if you told them through a support ticket, and hopefully, you won't make that mistake again, since that hacking is very obvious, unless the person you want to report is not shooting through the walls, walking through them, or shooting rapidly and killing people with one shot, then you shouldn't use that option, but even perhaps to extend on your idea, to have at the very least 3 people that agree with one person's opinion to report, and that the hacker/innocent player would be allowed to finish the game, then to have a popup that says "Disconnected from servers" or "Hacking tool detected."

Having a minimum number of 3 to agree to report is a nice idea. But i wouldnt want the "Hacking tool detected. or Disconnected from server" since he/she could be testing, developing hacks.
However great my proposed idea is a nice answer to the hacking problem. Z8 would most likely not pay attention unless a staff member addresses this to them. Seeing how our suggestions are almost always not looked at.
  • This is suggested everyday over 3times.

The Z8 staff does read this, its that the developers doesn't want to install new programmings or so I've heard.
  • The argument advanced in this situation is the in game mods could be corrupt, using that standard we should have no forum mods either.
  • No POINT CF Z8 GAMES MODS GAME MODERATORS DO NOT GIVE BS.... - - Btw anyone know where i can get them i wana start >.> kick some BR ass and im being dead serious.

  • Mods dont play or care, i was just in 10 daily challenge matches, everyone except one i was getting shot through the walls. "Z8 Just wants the money" its a business. That is why my entire clan has retired to different games. suckit Z8!!!!!!!!! Ban me if u like mods you only seem to care about the forums not the game, as i said ban me if u like your game sux due to high pings and hacks.
