[Suggestion] In game voice chat

So i don`t know how to call this...but i think that Voice chat in game would be awsome.
BUT only for clan members while playing cw or when playing together..
WHY this..because we need to use 3rd party software like skype,ts,ventrilo,gamecomm...etc..and they use system resources, slow down pc and we have lower framerate...
So it would be great to have something like inbuilt voice chat..

  • a voice chat for ONLY the clan? i actually wouldn't mind this... but it would have 2 be a good one, so it doesn't lag up the game..

i only use vent to talk to clan anyway.. so whats the difference i suppose..

    +1 from me
  • There's no way around obtaining lag with using a voice system even with it being integrated into CF.

Why? Because it requires internet to be able to run which means your ping will go up and framerate will go down.

The only real way around is to have a very very crappy 30$ PC and use that only for voice chats. Which then, you have a problem of using a headset... So either use a ethernet cable instead of wireless and/or get a better PC and/or a better ISP.

    xD
  • Third party VoIP programs take up very little memory. The only one that you should be concerned about is Skype, as it takes up more than the little that the ones I have do.

I used the two that the competitive community use, Ventrilo and Mumble. I had Skype already on my computer, so I threw it in there too.

Just a comparison. Comparing common programs like Photoshop and Mozilla Firefox to that of Ventrilo, Skype, and Mumble. As you can see, Ventrilo is the lowest, and it honestly takes up almost 1/10 of the memory that XFire uses.

Skype takes up a lot because it's an actual program that's complex. Mumble takes up a lot because of it's very low latency / it's more complex than Ventrilo.

The competitive community knows that I'm Chris, no big deal in censoring it. VoIP programs cancel out any need for an ingame VoIP. It would do the exact same thing; and take up even more memory. It's not like having a VoIP in game would not take up any memory, no?
  • No wonder why I lagged with mumble. 20k KB.

    Nice uTorrent btw. xD

My excuse [diversion to be honest] is that I torrent Cross Fire patches? They're faster, and work much better. What I do when I'm off the forums is not anyone's business ;)
