I have 40euro to improve my FPS.Any advice?
So Yeah title says it all.I am not so up to date with hardware.
These are my specs. If more are required let me know(Also maybe a tip of how to find this information out)
Computer Acer Aspire E500-EE6K
CPU Type DualCore Intel Pentium D 950, 3400 MHz (17 x 200)
Motherboard Chipset ATI Radeon Xpress 200
System Memory 1792 MB (DDR2-533 DDR SDRAM)
Video Adapter ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (256 MB)
About 6 months ago i was playing with 512mb RAM and i got around 25FPS in 8v8. Now after swapping computers i have 2Gb RAM and even on the lowest settings i only get around 30/40fps regardless of if i improve graphics, screen resolution etc.
Is there any thing i can do to tweak my computer.I've read about clocking the cmputer but that sounds a bit risky.
From what i read on other threads the best idea is probably to buy a better video card. But i don't know how to find out which one is compatible with my system and also which one gives best performance/value for money. Also what kind of increase in fps would I get for this investment.Because at 30/40 fps the game seems very shaky at times
Any advice would be appreciated as I intend to buy one today. Thanks in advance.

40 euro is few sum. You will not be able to buy something good.
Yeah i said 40 because i am on a tight budget. But i guess i could stretch to 50 if the performance would be drastically improved. If i could raise it so i always get about 50/60 i would be a happy man.
First i thought it was the RAM that i was a terrible player. But that wasn't the reason
Then i bought a gaming mouse(20 euro raptor) Didn't seem to help either, although i am still not sure what DPI/sensitivities to suit my gameplay.
I own alot of weapons, still can't work out which ones to use.
So really the video card is my last hope.If my Fps is then good and i still suck. Then i know that its only me getting old and the reaction times failing me.I am a veteran games player to say the least. I got my first computer(ZX81) 30years ago. Before 99% of the people reading this post were born. LOL

I suppose, you may upgrade only RAM. I have 4 Gb RAM (Windows can see only 3.25 Gb). And I have FPS about 50-100 on any UK server. You cannot buy a really good videocard for 40-50 euro.
He can sell his pc and tv to get better pc.
And 2gb ram is all you need for CF, even 1gb is enough.

The more RAM, the better game. His PC is not so bad. FPS sums from hardware and software. Perhaps, his FPS will get better after reinstalling Windows. -

Look his start post of the thread. There he typed some units of his PC. One will be able to get a decent PC if keeps it in good repair. -

Oh well so i guess will just carry playing as it is.i thought it would be possible maybe to get a better graphics card for 40/50euro. Unfortunately i haven't got 300euro,kids come first and they cost a lot of money.
But i would of thought with dual pentium processors and 2gb RAM i should get better than 40/50fps. -
No logical upgrades fit your budget. You don't need more RAM, disregard the posts telling you to get more. For FPS games it will be more than enough. What you actually need is a new graphcis card. Now, you will not find any decent ones for 40 euros. Your CPU is fine but a bit outdated.

Thanks for advice. Whats the price range for reasonable graphics cards. -
The ram and cpu are fine. look into getting an HD5450 video card, but make sure your motherboard has a PCI-Express slot before doing so. The HD5450 will give you a pretty substantial performance increase even though the card is fairly weak. Expect 80-100 fps in 8v8's.

Don't think that would work as mine is ddr2.also a nub question but how do i find out if i have a pci express slot. My ati radeon express does look the same as that one in the link. -
It appears after looking up aspire e500 that i have pci express.
Expansion Slots 1 PCI-Express x16 VGA
1 PCI-Express x1
2 PCI v2.3 slots
Motherboard Acer
Model ERC410M
Does that mean that most graphic cards will word on my computer? If i save up whats a reasonable graphics card for my computer 100euro or less?
is the Radeon HD 5670 any good?
As for cpu isn't pentium 2x3.40ghz enough? -

The postage would be more than the computer is worth. But seriously there seem to be some ok graphics cards for around 80/90euro like the hd6570.Question is are they compatible with my computer. -
So ok in next half hour will go to town with 90euro.
Is there anything better than this for the money?

Write you computer specs down and take it when you go to buy anything
Just ask the stores person if what ever you are buying is compatible
Just to make sure, you don't wanna be wasting money you are short on
I'm needing a new set up too but at least I still get around 60-80 fps in cf
