Competetive EU Restriction
This is not another QQ thread on how Brazillians weren't blocked or what not.
Here is what I think the affect on the EU COMMUNITY by the IP restrictions.
Firstly let's go over some good EU/UK Scrim Teams.
1) Seals - 0 UK Players
2) R.O.C - Had about 3/4 non UK players
3) Conn3x - A variety of Europeans
4) subConscious - All GREEK
5) fragMIND - 3 maybe 4 non UK players.
6) ruLegends - All Russian, 0 UK players.
The list goes on.
I may be wrong, but I think when CF EU comes out the EU competitive scene will whither and die out.
THE UK SCENE ITSELF ISN'T BIG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT A COMPETITIVE COMMUNITY.
There are some solutions.
1) UK players will have to pub it out.
2) Join the 1/2 teams that might still be around.
3) Compete NA.
OR, we could merge UK into the CF EU version. But unfortunately that is unlikely to happen.
Anyway that's what I think is gonna happen and my perspective on it.

sure they are restricted, but only on NEW accounts. as long as they're not dumb enough to get all their available accounts banned, then there is no problem.
EDIT: ^ thats only in reference to your list of EU teams that are ''affected'' by the IP restriction. The only thing its restricting, is new EU players coming to CF -

They would still be inclined to join a version made/designed for them, wouldn't they? -

that's not what he means, basically the EU scene will be split up
The UK stuck with z8 while the EUs get their own version of CF (if that really does happen)
The UK scene is not big enough to have a competitive scene on it's own, which means they'd have to choose one of three options:
1. Join the NA side for competition, which means competing along side/with us in the NA leagues
2. Convince z8 to abandon their UK license to be picked up by EU CF (if it really does happen, which also conflicts with z8's interests financially)
3. Quit the competitive side of CF (become pubstars/leave the game)
this really only applies to competitive players, as pubstars really won't notice a difference with the EU community leaving. -

ic now, i didn't know there was talk of a EU CF. my bad. personally, i think having some EU's in the NA scene would be cool. other then slaya (whos not even EU) and vermilion, i don't recall their being a mix. -

There WILL be a new version, Closed Beta coming out soon.

Im considering NA possibly, unless fragmind stays alive:
since it actually is confirmed, those are your only 3 options.
best of luck my EU/UK friends

the mix na/eu was before the uk server came , met some very nice ppl. but i dont think the new cf gone be a problem for competition but it will kill C*** imo many players will go to the eu servers and Z8 will loose some customers
We can't go to the EU CF if youre UK, like me. -
For some reason UK isn't appart of the EU anymore... lol
I don't see why the NA and EU versions can't both share the UK licence, that would be the best solution, otherwise UK competitive scene will slowly die. Sure other EUs can still play this current version, but in the long term why should they when they can get 7 ping in Berlin servers?
I got 4 UK players in my team including myself, if worst comes, we will need to get 2 more UK players to fill the team. That's not that hard. BUT WHO WILL WE PLAY? There isn't ONE UK team. There aren't enough UK players to make this work.
I much rather forget everything I payed for on this account and start again on CF EU as long as there is competition. That's what I'm here for. -

THIS THIS THIS. Nip knows. I agree 100% especially on the fact that the license should be shared, and, there will be NO teams to play. And again, Nip reiterates what I mentioned, the UK cOmmunity is too small to be competitive: -

Its probably all about licenses, i just hope there is a way around it or that CF-EU will pick up the UK license. Cbf losing the most vital player in the team. -
mm im not in europe apparently i tried for the beta. Not in the desired area w/e. Eitherz8 will have to do some major adertising to entice players to come join it. Z8 has fuuked it uk competitive looking like its gonna be over soon. R.O.C will still be roc on n//a uk, if everyone goes to eu cf lol we be some lonely bunch.....ppl will prolly go on that private server for scims prolly i dont know wot will happen...

rofl.....the UK competitive scene is going to BLOW so baddddddddddddddddd. I know like 10 competitive players and like 5 of em are in deluxe. Z8 shouldve sold the uk license to SG aswell and just kept their turkish/african ones. Whats the point of having 2 european countries and then none of the others.

You're not the brightest. Cross Fire players in the 'RED' region that has already registered to the game before August 3, 2011 can continue to play the game as anyone else. If they registered their account between August 4, 2011 and the days to come they will not be able to log on the game Cross Fire itself. They can still forum and such, just can't log into the game.
Cheers! -

Let's see if you can figure out what you did wrong first. -

We're all aware of this, duh. The thing is people are moving to CF EU (whenever it happens) for several of reasons - especially the ping issue -, but those who live in UK and Swizterland can't register which will result in some clans possibly splitting up. Yes, we could decide to keep playing this version, but when a better version comes up, why stay here?
