It does make sense.
All Points Bulletin did this after Realtime Worlds or whoever closed down, then GamersFirst bought them out and gave all the old players tons of stuff.
Maybe give the old players their K/D, Rank, and some special equipment (ZP CHaracter, a nice weapon, not just some cheap rip-off reskin, and some ZP stuff if they bought ZP)
