Fixing FPS Lag. Help!

I'm new to Crossfire (obviously) and i had a few problems starting, but after that i finally got into the game.I got excited until I had lag. Not Ping lag. Frame rate lag.
When I try to move my "character" seems to do small jumps. I cant move at all. The only way i could move is by looking down. Looking down gives me a few frames, but I am unaware of my surroundings. Resulting of me dying and not getting any kills.

All i want to know is if anybody could help me fix it.
What settings.
Any programs.
Or something with my computer.

Thank You For Your Time :)

  • Frames per second has a lot to do with your graphics card. If you have a poor to standard graphics card, your frame rate will not be high enough to guarantee fluid motion. But even with a good graphics card, other things could cause for you to lag and experience a lower rate of frames. I would start by taking a look at your graphics card. Then I would tweak the performance of your computer and then the performance of your computer over the internet. Minimize the amount of background processing and applications so that they don't cause for more demand on your computer when you're gaming. You could download some type of system performance application but the change may not be enough for you to tell a difference or, it may be enough for you to tell a difference, it just depends on what's going on with your computer. I know this is general and somewhat vague but it's just the same with anything else; the problem can be the result of one factor or several factors at the same time. I can't promise that once you fix one problem that you won't find another one. If you really want to know more then respond and I can help you find something to boost your system's performance.
